• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Whats going on everybody! Ive been posting a little bit but i haven't gotten to introduce my self yet.

The names Shawn, i work 72 hours a week as an EMT - currently in school full time to become a Paramedic. I also volunteer for my rural Fire Protection District.

My other half and I recently went to the dealership a buddy of mine referred me to (hes a deputy who knows the manager very well) and got a pretty good deal on a 2004 Grand Prix GT with only 90k miles on it.

The owner before me had already put a scepter short ram intake in it, and painted the engine cover appropriately. But for some reason they painted the outer edges of the headlights black, and it was starting to peal pretty bad. Luckily a friend of mine has hids in his 08 gt and sold us his OEM lights for like 25$. (Good deal to get rid of the ugly ones). They had also rigged up some flashers or something wired to a switch, where if you flipped the switch, the brights turned on and off. Got rid of that thankfully because the wiring was terrible.

So far the car is great, my DD has also been gas efficient (2000 hyundai accent, and 2003 toyota camry ((still own))). The GP may not be supercharged, but the 3.8l 6cyl is so much fun. Today we noticed a brake fluid leak in the rear drivers side tire and found out that the caliper needed to be changed, so we took some time out today an fixed that. Our next project is to paint the calipers black (the calipers were painted yellow before we got the car) and now we have one off color ;-/.

I really wanna clean the engine bay out next, and shine that all up.

When im not on my phone id love to post pictures of the new(to us) car!

Welcome!

I don't know how you EMT's do it. I am glad you guys are willing to do the job because I don't think I could.

Welcome from one EMT to another brother! And another '04 to boot? Man, great taste must be an unwritten rule of the job description.

Awesome to meet you jbelectronic! From the looks of your avatar, we have the same color as well! Just needs new wheels and tint and we would look the exact same!! Outside of the hood anyway!

These cars sure do look nice in black don't they? What part of Illinois are you in? Rural Northwest Indiana here. Now get some pics of your GP up so we can all tell you how much we like it already!

Scratch that, just saw your pics...Yep, I like it.

Rural 219 lol, needless to say my GP sticks out like a sore thumb here in good ole Rensselaer. Maybe I could paint it John Deere green and powder coat my rims yellow?

Oh cmon thats not even southern....

Tell that to the corn and soybean fields all around me. If we venture any further than Demotte we call it going "up north", and we actually have a larger group of people that restore antique tractors than we do people that restore cars...that's just not right.

Ya around here, we called Cedar Lake "Cedar Tucky". The amount of hill billy wannabe's is atrocious lol.
TC, post some pics up in diiiiiiis lol i wanna see it.
