I bought a 97 GTP sedan back in 1998 before anyone really knew about them or hopped them up much. It was a awesome car. I left it stock and we got 160,000 trouble free miles before we sold it. I just sold my 04 CTS-V to get a car with a little better on fuel (yeah right). Anyhow I bought a 99 GTP with under a 100k on it so let the modding begin. Oh and I need to get the post count up there so I can sell some of the spare parts I have acquired already.

I installed a highflow cat/midpipe. I have a 3.4 modular pulley kit on order and a set of 07 GXP brakes in the garage for it. I also ordered a dul gauge pod for the dash I have a couple of Aeroforce scan gauges layin around not doing anything. I also already licensed the PCM thru HPtuners. I would like to make the car fun. It would be nice to have a 13 second ride, shouldn't be too hard right?

So is a intercooler necessary with the 3.4 pulley or can I do without? I wouldnt mind adding one. Will a IC fit under a SLP hood? OR is a SSIC even worth it? Thanks

I have a 3 inch down pipe, I was trying to avoid headers if possible. I noticed very little to no gain on my Silverado SS when I had a magnacharger MP112 on it and changed from manifolds to headers.

There really isnt a gain in the butt dyno by adding them, its the ability to flow more exhaust gases and help prevent knock.

Seeing that you have a 3in downpipe, a front powerlog is what I would do then.

You said you had HPT, so run the car and see what it likes. If it has a bunch of KR, then you know you need to adjust the tune a little bit and add more exhaust flow like that powerlog. Having a wideband handy will help alot aswell.

Tuning is key. An intercooler could drop you below the 3.4 but befor you go that route grab headers and cam it. Headers are easier to do than an intercooler and cheap.

I have 17 inch Comp G wheels that I just put on in anticipation of the brake upgrade. My CTS-V had incredible brakes and I want something that is better than what a stock GTP has to offer.
