Monsoon stereo with touch screen and GPS navigation

Hello everyone,

I just purchased my GP GT this weekend. I'm planning o n storing it until I sell my other car ( a Buick Regal).

I plan on disconnecting the car's battery. My question is what procedures, if any, would I have to undertake to make this radio work again after I reconnect the battery.

Would I need to have the touch screen or GPS reprogrammed or would it just do it on it's own? Or would it just work automatically?

Oh, and BTW, this is a factory unit not aftermarket. When I start the car, the screen displays the Pontiac logo and the steering wheel controls work to lower/increase the volume etc.

Thanks!

disconnecting your battery wont effect the car in any way you have to worry about, anything related to the computers or the headunits is all stored on flash memory within the module itself. only way you would have to worry about something like this is in the event of physical damage. This is true of all cars not just the grand prix.

On my Regal if I reconnect the battery the radio will be locked until I type in a password or number.

Would I be faced with the same scenario with the monsoon touch screen/navigation system? I wasn't given a password when I purchased the car.

ive had my battery out numerous times, never experienced an issue like that, seems like your regal has a problem with the radio IMO where its not saving the security code
