Hi I am here to look for info on my girlfriends 08 gxp grand prix. I am looking of info on where to run the power wire for her stereo install.

On another note her car is fast but my car is faster! :th_laugh-lol3: I drive a 2010 camaro 2ss rs 6 spd manual. I am also a member of camaro5.com forum:th_thumbsup-wink:.

Bump...

Same question here. Concerned about running it in the large grommet below the glovebox. It seems like this would require running the wire VERY close to the exhaust manifold.

I did not find any info here so I did it on my own.

Well here is how I ran the power wire. I went from the battery up the right side and followed the windshield washer hose along the right apron, then removed the right w/s cowl and then ran it under the cowl then down the right hinge pillar, then had to remove the RF wheel and plastic fender liner and drilled a hole in to the hinge pillar, and ran the power wire thru the drilled hole in conjunction with a stinger 8 gauge pro grommet. I also used seam sealer on both sides of drilled hole to ensure its water tight. Silicone would also work. Then on the inside of the car I removed the Rt Lwr trim panel and carpet which allowed access to the inside of the hinge pillar.(I actually did that before I drilled the hole). Then I pulled the wire thru the hinge pillar and tucked the power wire under the trim to the back of the car and went under the back seat then in to the trunk.

well if its the same as on a V6 gp theres a grommet by the steering column that i used for mine. youll have to run the wire along the fire wall then over the brake booster. its kinda a pain to get to but itll be a clean install
