Is it a V8? No, it's a 3800.

After doing my cat back exhaust (stock cat dp) I've had my friends start my car and gasp when it turns over. My buds are good eg tuners and he was shocked for me to tell him its a v6. " all the v6s I hear are higher pitched" he said. It's mostly because of design (ohc/ block degree/exhaust manifold/ UN equal length header type/single port etcs.)
All Ive done is a Magnaflow glasspack in place of the resonator and 2 magnaflow street DTM's out back in place of the 2 old mufflers. The magnaflows did this?

Depends on what your ears decipher as sounding good. In my experience grand prix's sound like crap. Unless turbo or cammed.

we hide the exhaust noise with turbo or blower noise lol loud exhaust is retarded imo......

If i had a camera that coukd record it I would. My GS5 camera distorts when I tske videos of my exhaust. That's how deep it sounds. Smooth and linear till 5800 or whatever the redline

These 3 magnaflows dont make my car loud? I know a fam member with a 3800 monte and put 2 flowmasters 50s in the back and did a straight pipe in place of the resonator. It sounded like air hitting a tinny can. Lol Same engine and chassis
 
Because it's a chambered muffler.

The Magnaflow isn't.

Anyway you slice it, the 3800 doesn't have a good exhaust note without a huge cam or a snail.

I wonder how many ppl have done a triple magnaflow. I get it all the time, (Did you do a ls4 swap, you swap a v8 into that) when im droppin a friend off and i down shift and rev match lol it burbles deep and sounds amazing... even at my tech school, one of myinstructors who teaches a 3.8l 3800 overhaul class told me that my exhaust was the best hes heard from a 3800 S2. idk why you guys are hating so much. Ive heard v6 300c's that sound 10x worse

If my gs5 catches my lack of exhaust with a v8 no cat and no mufflers without distortion I doubt that's your issue. Try farther away from the car So you can get a accurate understanding
