Brake grinding

When I turn, I can hear my driver side front brake grinding. I can visibly see the wear on the rotor from it. Looking for possible suggestions on what it is. I'm thinking I need to replace the caliper, when I make right turns, my pedal gets very soft until I pump it a couple times. Car is a 98 Gtp with 160K on it

check your pads, sounds like your down to metal. and also check the fluid level in the master, and the rubber hoses to the brake calipers, as they get soft and then fail to hold pressure.

the pads are probably worn down with the indication of that metal piece scrapping the rotor. I'd check the pads first.
