• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Alright, yet another annoyance to the daily struggle of owning a grand prix. So i have a 98 gtp daytona and like many other gtp's its got a tick from somewhere thats slowly but surely driving me insane. So before you all jump on "its the coupler" i already pulled the sc belt off and not only is the tick still there but its louder! The sc is actually muffling it! But another thing i have to add is that you cant hear it when its idling but only when the engine is under load in 2nd 3rd or 4th gear like going up a hill at about 2 or 3k rpms but if you step on it the noise is gone! I was just wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem? hopefully i can intercept the problem before something bad happens, like killing my engine

The lifters like to tick. Maybe one's going out. Or they'll rattle a bit if they're not pumped up with oil

oil is good Im running amsoil synthetic in it, its coming up on 3k since the change and the level is right where it should be. although my check engine light came on for a very mild misfire, it probably could use a tune up I don't imagine anybody has done that yet on this car at 114k miles.
