'98 GTP power steering pump question

I know this is an awful question, but perhaps someone could help me. I need a replacement for the bolt that holds the pulley onto the power steering pump itself. The threads in the shaft are fine, I just happened to "misplace" said bolt. Any help would be really appreciated. I recently did a head gasket change and am now at a stand-still putting her back together since I can't put the pulley back on.
 


thats not a bolt, the p/s pulley is pull off press on, you can buy or rent a puller/ installer tool.

tool looks like this. and this is the only puller you can use.

I'm pretty sure that I removed a hex head bolt in order to remove the pulley. It's already off, I just need some fastener specs in order to put it back on.

Can you post some pics? I'm pretty sure Scotty isn't crazy...especially since these are certainly press on pulleys. I know...I've done a bunch of them and have 3 here right now.
 
Yeah, sure thing. I know all about press on/pull off's, as I'm not totally mechanically un-inclined. I'll have pictures up in a jiffy.

EDIT: Well it's official, I've lost my mind. You're right Scotty, it's a press on. I just pulled it off the old fashioned way with an Allen key and a bit of elbow grease. I guess I'll ride to the auto parts store in the morning to see if I can rent the correct tool.

this aint a gp p/s pump, but they all come off and on the same way. the threads are there for the puller/installer.


 
ok, just how long did it take to get it off like that, because thats sounds like hell to me. with a 30 dollar puller mine was off in 1 minute tops.

just so you know the new pump, if you bought one, usually has a installer tool with it. its nothing more then a nut and a bolt and a washer.

you put the nut on the bolt, far up the threads, then the washer, then put the bolt thought the pulley and into the threads of the pump, snug the bolt, then hold the bolt with a socket, and with a wench tighten the bolt down, this will put the pulley back on.

Glad you got it figured out. You're not an idiot...it's just one of those things that unless you have seen a bunch you wouldn't think different. Also, with doing a job like head gaskets, there's a lot of other stuff to focus on and remember so forgetting about the P/S pump is miniscule. Good luck finishing it up and glad we could help out.
