ok guys like i said i am new to the whole gp thing but i am no its misfiring stumbles at idle when you sitting there there is a service engine soon light on but i dont wanna go to a parts store. so many codes are going to pop up haha but it seems to do it when it is warmed up. but i am thinking it has to do with the fact that the wires are most likey form a 3.1 casue they would barley fit to the cylinders. so any info adivce would be greatly needed thanks guys:th_thumbsup-wink:

Yea, get the codes scanned and tell us what they are. Then most likely you will need to clean the MAF, replace plugs AND wires. You may also have to replace the front 02 sensor as well.

Not getting the codes scanned and us guessing is not going to help you very much. We can guess all day long but in the end your car is already telling you what is wrong. You just have to learn how to speak it's language :th_thumbsup-wink:

yea i am prolly going to have to get it on a scanner sooner or later but now i might have a pulley going out as metal grinder sound by the pulleys. so i am not for sure on what is casuing that maybe tenisoner pulley what you think:confused:

I would pull the belt off and spin all that you can by hand and see which one is making the noise. Could be the A/C clutch, could be the tensioner pulley, waterpump, etc..

My guess would be either tensioner or A/C.

Re: 97 prix se misfire

yea it is the ac/ clutch so worn down its shaving it down but it is getting fixed tommorrow. but i am having a misfire at idle which i am thinking it is form the wrong wires i mean i had to strech them to get them on so i am going to be buying a new set this friday also planing on doing a oil change, seafoam, new wires, i got a full cold air intake and filter coming. thinking about doing a glasspack the stock one is junk and as of now it has no exhaust:th_sick1: lol. but you think the misfire is form the wires let me know thanks

Most likely. It's probably so short that its not clipped onto the plug or coil securely and vibrations are knocking it loose. Get a stock set of AC Delco wires and call it done.

yea that is what i am going to try and do this friday. but i took it to the shop and all they did was bend it out so it wouldnt grind. so now i have a 400 bill for a ac pump and i even had to pay 18 bucks to for that guy to just bend some metal i mean if i knew that would work i could have just dont that in the first place.:th_wtf:. ps any suggesting on exhaust wise. i think i might even have a plug cat. sure seems like that sometimes haha

Not sure on the exhaust. I know others have changed theirs. I'd run a search on glasspack or muffler and see what is recommended. I do know that the exhaust note of the 3800 is crap with the wrong exhaust behind it. And you're not going to get that V8 sound from it.
