01 GP gt bad vibration when cornering right

Hi all, I am the recent purchaser of a 2001 GP GT sedan (had a 93 Eagle Talon). I am getting a bad vibration when cornering right, and usually only when under acceleration. I was thinking bad engine/tranny mount or bad axle. Any ideas? If more info is needed please let me know. Thanks in advance!

try jacking it up and seeing if either of the steer wheels wobble, if so it's probably a wheel bearing, i just switched my front right one a month back.... zzp 85.00

I also noticed that if I turn right slightly and back left slowly I can feel just a little wobble there. Kinda sounds like the problem.

I had a similar issue and turned out to be my inner CV joint on the passenger side. I replaced both axles to be sure and it was fine.

Thats what I am prob going to do. Replace both axles. ZZP has them for $85.00 for a set. I dont believe it is a hard job......was it?

My cousin helped me, but no it wasn't bad. He does have a shouse though (his own two car shop with a house on top... :th_laugh-lol2: ).

We took out the strut to knuckle bolts. At first they didn't want to come out, but he brought out the BFH and they popped out with ease. Then the axles came out. I bought my axles from RockAuto for like $115 or something with a little shipping. Brand new parts. Not sure if ZZP's are new or not, but they're $85 each. ;)

yea the BFH is the best tool you can have...lol
but I'm thinking on going hd on my axles and diff simply because i sometimes drive kinda hard and i think the axles may be absorbing a little more stress than the designers intended

Well, I pulled my front wheels, and gave the axles a visual inspection. No visible damage, no leaks or torn boots. No excess play in the front end. So are there any ways to test if the axle is damaged without pulling them? Thanks guys.

I was thinking today that it is prob my wheel hub in the right front. When I am turning I can also hear a noise from that wheel. So I am assuming in all likeliness it is the hub. Any input guys? Who sells a decent wheel hub? I was looking at ZZPerformance for $79.99. How hard are they to install? Thanks again!

Also on another issue real quick, I want to get some new mufflers, was looking at Thrush's. On a stock exhaust system on an 01' GT, what diameter piping is it and what offset are the stock mufflers - offset in/center out?

to check the hub, jack the car up and leave the tire on, if it wiggles at all then you got a hub going...
i just did mine, it was from ZZP and so far seems to be holding well, got about 1000miles on it so far... pretty easy job, just remove the wheel, brake caliper, and three bolts coming in from the rear of the hub, then the axle nut
(36mm) and the wire plug.... i used a gear puller to push the axle out...
the torque specs are 100 on the 3 wheel bearing bolts, and 180 on the axle nut... i don't have a torque wrenc so i just guesstimated.
