I recently installed a pair of brand rear lower control arms in the trans am and they worked great. I was looking to get control arm relocation brackets and front strut tower brace and then I found this guy in the Mexican fbody forums that was building his own parts. So I decided to give it a try and ordered a STB and relocation brackets.
I got the package two days ago and I didn't liked what I saw at all....
First the STB, the material and overall quality was barely acceptable, but when I put over the strut screws it's no where near fitting. First try fitting the passenger's side first, this is how it looks on the driver's side:
now the other way around:
Now the brackets, made of thinner metal sheet they feel weak sand you can bend them with your hands, both brackets are not equal, they only have one position for lowering the arms 2 inches instead of two positions of 2 and 3 inches. No screws or nuts were included in the package.
Here's a picture of the craftsmanship:
Rather than being angry I got disappointed at such lame attempt of doing things. I obviously told the guy about it, I don't even care about getting the cash back, too bad the very few attempts of doing something like that here in Mexico is so lame.
I'll order these things and the phanard rod from the founders performance now....
I was also talking to an old friend who has been building engines here for decades. he was telling me about this guy who was supposedly the best tuner guy in town and he told me that he had several boosted engines blown to pieces and didn't know why. When I asked him if the guy used a wideband sensor he said he didn't.... lol
