i would tell them im taking to what ever place "you want to take it", not them. and tell them they are paying for it. plain and simple.

its unreal that they cant even get the front end close at all.

their equipment is either f'ed up. or the mechanics don't know how to use the equipment.

i just went to firestone for a alignment, they give you a print out of where the wheels were when it came in, and after they are done.

the last shop i was at had my toe in at -0.040 to much on both sides. thats to much toe in. should be in the range of -0.01 to 0.08 now my car rolls straight, and seems to roll smoother as well.

Scotty.. you know the G80 locking diff from the sound of it. My dealership (prior truck) didn't believe that it wasn't working. Took the manager (first name basis ya know) out for a spin and he couldn't tell. Getting frustrated and it being winter, I drove past the service door (his face dropped) doing about 50mph toward the back of their lot. Right over the curb and up to the huge pile of snow. "Uh..you might get stuck" he says. I replied, "if that happens, you'll agree there is an issue because three tires should be spinning if I get stuck. Plus you have how many trucks here..we'll pull it out". Nose it into the bank and stuff the pedal. I say "open your door, your tire isn't spinning" I tell him to get out of the truck and look, ***** wanted me to let the truck back down off 50mph before he'd get out.

    End result.. it got fixed.
Other result of many issues at that dealer...not one of the service writers or manager would come within 20 feet of me. I never threatened or touched anyone. Was a bit angry looking though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Bill they told my my locker was fine too. i pulled it right up to the front door to the service dept. told the guy to get out here now! proceeded to do a burn out, with the right rear only spinning. then i looked at the guy and said, so do you see two rear tires spinning? that was the first time it got rebuilt.

the trans was even better, it started out as only slipping in reverse, and you had to give it a fair amount of gas to get it to slip. they call me up and say its fine, come get it. i ask you fixed it? they no, nothings wrong. at that point i lost it and told this jerk, to go out side and, put the the truck in reverse stand on the brakes, and floor it! hes like we dont do that, im like how the fvck do you test a trans for slipping then? i got no response, dead air.

i then told him im on my way down there now!!!!! and ill show you a slipping trans!!!!! and ill burn it till the fvcking trans blows out the bottom of the truck!!!!!!!!! and yes i was screaming and yelling at the top of my lungs, this was not my first rodeo with these assholes. not by far.

then hes like, let me have it looked at again, ill call you right back. then by magic, it was slipping for them. then of course they rebuilt it 2 times and failed on both rebuilds, then i got a brand new trans from GM. total down time almost a month.

this would be Buyer brothers gmc dealership in fairview NJ. my warranty repair print out speaks for its self. called Gm and ratted them out to. worst fvcking dealer for service out there. that was over the epoxy on my t case. i was ready to hit someone over that crap.

oh from what i know about that locker, it lets go after 25 or 30 mph. or its supposed to anyways. its a make or break option in my book for buying a 4x4, no locker, no sale.

i used to snow plow with my truck in 2 wheel drive a lot, ( up to 4 inches easy) where the fords had to lock the hubs and go 4x4, spinning that right rear and left front all day. lol suckers lol

the 03 i had, after the final push into a snow bank, when i backed up you could see 4 black spots where all 4 wheels spun at the last push. you could also see snow fly from both front tires.

as many problems i had with that truck, it was still one frigging beast of a truck.

Dude...your car is making a left..it's clear on the print out.

Scott. The locker in my truck sometimes stays locked. Takes another rip of the tires to unlock. Maybe I should change the diff fluid...it's only got 150K on it. lol

That's what I've been trying to tell the dealer the whole time and they can't figure out why its doing it.

what kind of rack are they using? is is a computer job? or just the round disks that spin under the tires? either way a test drive would have told them something is wrong.

believe it or not, with my front end out as far as it was, the wheel was dead straight. the car even went straight till the tires got worn out, then i was drifting all over the road.

They put new tires on it yesterday and did another alignment so they say. I know they at least did the tires but they claimed they drove it for ten miles and noticed nothing out of the ordinary. I find it hard to believe because I drove it a block and noticed the alignment right away. I went as far as to drive my old 04 GTP I sold my brother last night to make sure I wasn't crazy and the steering on the GTP is a lot tighter than the GXP.

well im 6'6" tall, and yell loud, (and tend to look like i could be a problem if pissed enough) maybe that can work for you too lol.

but being you have the print out, id take it back with with the print out as proof. and tell them to pay for it to be done else where.

or just have your job realign it at this point. your dealer has problems for sure. at least your shop has the better alignment rack. so it seems.

Owner of the dealership called me today to tell me they are sick of sticking money into the GXP to find out the issue of why the alignment is bad and that they would cancel the deal and give me my old car back.

    what you say to that?

thats pretty messed up if you ask me.......its a simple alignment problem.

so they buy you out where you were before you ever walked in, and then they sell it to someone else with out fixing it, hoping the next guy wont care??????

    Isnt it under warranty?
If it is then all they do is put the parts in, GM pays for the parts and the labor.
Why do they care about paying for it? Unless they f'd up and now GM wont cover it

i think they need new tech's in the shop, they are wasting his money.

i think he just got it used, so it may be a dealer warranty, vs a GM warranty if the gm one has expired. then the dealer is footing the bill.

Sounds like a sorry excuse to get you to either deal with it or go somewhere else and get out of their hair.
