you know every time i get food cooked on the hot plate and served on the wood plate, its a dead give away its hot, but still the waitress says careful this is a HOT PLATE. and i look at her like, "do i look stupid?" and i say thank you...
now i know why she has to say that. live and learn i say. at least the meal was free, and so is the next meal.
My moms will keep the card and use it. She is an educated person. She holds a Masters Degree and is currently going for her Doctorate. Shes a Special Education Teacher at a local Middle School. But still with all that, sometimes what she says and her mind set is really confusing. And shes a pretty fragile person. She broke down and cried talking about a fight she saw at school in the lunch room.
sadly book smart people have the least amount of common sense. seen it over and over again, everything they know is from a book, no real life experiences.
teachers are the worst when it comes to real common sense.
the reason she burned her finger was cuz it would be too easy and make way to much sense to just wait for it to cool. I think you got a hell of a good deal with the gift card. I think im gonna start grabbing a hot plate when i go out to eat for a free meal plus $75.
This is precisely why I tell people I don't give a f*ck what level of education an individual has completed. That is in NO way, shape or form a measure of someone's intelligence, nor is it an indicator that a person is qualified to be in their respective field. Just about anyone can memorize material and regurgitate it on a test, but thinking on your feet and problem solving on the spot in real time is an entirely different story, and those are far better benchmarks of intellect.
....teacher? Or student?
