Ok the sad day finally came where i sold my 2002 grand prix gt. Anyway now it's turned to anger. It's been two day and the guy called me demanding i pay his "1300 buck" repair bill or take the car back. I had the car inspected 5 months ago and the front end was looked at 3 weeks ago, zero issues. He claims that it failed inspection for rack and pinion, control arm, tie rod end, and leaky tranny line. First off i think it's all bull
-Car steers perfect
-Car rides smooth without bumping or anything
-and the tranny fluid level never changes one bit
Regardless of whether these are lies anyway, there one mass lemon law that states that if the seller didn't know you cant do anything so i would be good, but there's another that states if the vehicle fails inspection within 7 days and the cost to get it to pass exceeds 10 percent of the sale price, which was a discounted 4300, then it may be returned.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but rack and pinion and tranny lines aren't part of the safety inspection, only the tie rods and control arm. It sounds to me like he brought it to a buddies shop and had it cleaned inside an out for what parts will go first and is trying to mooch them off of me. I'm so pissed off with D-bags and he is only getting more agitated as i call his bluffs. And he also had every opportunity to get it inspected before, and even said the car rode nice himself when he test drove it.
Anyone from mass or anyone that just knows, know if he can come out on top here?
