err when I lived in Detroit, MI we had similar stuff...usually it was people parking their vehicles in front of my house, while I was growing up...but my neighborhood now no...its kind of like a subdivision but doesnt have a name..

was the vehicle parked on the road or your property?

on my property in my driveway. And the only way you could see it was if you passed right in front of my house and looked down my driveway. It was pretty much hidden by the trees in my front yard. And all you could see when you did look down the driveway was the back of a mustang that had no rear end lol.

There actually is a law and i could go get a permit for ''restoring my vehicle'' and it's 15 bucks and good for 60 days non-renewable. When i have the money to finish putting together the rear end i may just drag the sob out by the street and get that permit and tell anyone who has a problem to bite me lol. Yeah i put a car cover on it. Looks way better than a blue tarp. I think in a day or so im gunna take it off and fold it up nice and neat by the car....and if the cop comes by again ill be like '' oh man i was working on it last night trying to get it put back together and i forgot to put the cover back on, I'll do it now'' LOL just to piss the people off lol. Still need to go to the station and do some reaserch on who made the call. I dont know any cops in centerville so i cant ask any favors there lol....Like to tell the people that called that they cant do **** about it lol.

Honestly, after reading your posts, I understand why, who ever complained didn't go directly to you. Look back at them and you will see what I mean. I realize you are venting here, but how would people that don't know you, know how you would handle an issue? People these days seem to be more apathic than they used to be. Added to the apathy, anger and it's a bad combo.

Do you know your neighbors? Are you friendly with them?

In my subdivision you wouldn't be allowed to have a non running car parked outside of the garage for more than a couple of days. Anything in disrepair has to be taken care of in a timely manner. Here instead of calling the police, the elected trustees make a personal visit. We are protecting our property values. The wife was a trustee for one or two terms and she didn't like it at all. Even though people receive subdvision bi-laws when moving in, they still get nasty when being visited about violations in said bi-laws. These visits are friendly visits too.

Well i understand what you mean about that and i think you understand that I am only mad because of how they handled it. And yes I am always as freindly with my neighbors as i can be. I always wave when I see them ect. And go talk to them when they are outside. So Idk Theres no excuse on how he acted (the one across the street) on a cupple of instances. Cursing my roomate out on 2 seperate occasions.

One reason I won't move into a neighborhood with a home owners association. I'm not going to let someone else dictate how my place should look, what color my house can be...etc.

And I feel like that s exactly what is going on with me. I dont live in any kind of an asosation but rather just in a older neighborhood. I mean shoot the only area of grass in my yard that is over 12 inches is a 3 x 8' garden. the rest of the grass is maybe 3 and a half to 4 inches high.

I have come to the conclusion that it is the neighbors across the street and the games are over.

And refering to indeed's comment about they may be scared or just may not want to come over becuase they dont know how i will act to there suggestions or requests- were talking about the guy who cursed me and my roomate out on 3 different occasions. So i dont think thats his problem. And the people right next to him across the street from him have all kinds of **** in there front yard like baby's toys and just plain old junk. So he apperantly has somethng against me for some reason. Thats ok i got something comming for his ass.

I know what you mean and feel the same way. I know a guy who lives in the same city as me and has to pay 1000 a year just to live in the community. One time he wanted to put up a wooden fence in his yard. He had to get it approved by his neighbors and the community ownew and plus get some kind of permit. **** that ****.

NOW, I don't have a problem with occasionaly doing maintanence or a mod... But I had a friend that everyday he was in his driveway with the compressor runnin and like 2 cars in front of the house and 3 in the driveway and 2 in the yard... and it was just trashy lookin... I pay good money for my house and I try to be considerate of my neighbors... But, if I do have a problem with one of them I will tactfully say something before I call the authorities... Unless they are crazy... But I would never live next to crazy people... I don't think I do anyways???
I agree with someone always having a load of cars and having crap all around the yard. But this thread is about neighbors who blow the whistle on any little thing. Last year for a car show i spent a month on my car. I used my compressor almost daily, BUT during the day. Its my right to do so. I say if you want quiet then you move to the country LOL. If you have neighbors then you are gonna have noise.
Hell my neighbor uses a gas leave blower and an old a$$ mower at 7 am next to my window on a sat my day off but I dont call the cops. Its part of living in a neighborhood. We arent cackling, we are complaining about nosey busy bodies who have to feel the need to police the whole neighborhood and point fingers at everyone around them. the way I see it if I am not hurting your property or you then leave me the F alone. Mind your own business and dont worry about what I'm doing in my home in my garage in my yard. My place is clean well kept well landscaped and no car parts laying around. So nobody needs to complan. They can deal with my compressor. I deal with their kids running into my DD with bikes and hitting it with balls, kids cutting through my yard, kids playing drums/lessons, guy behind me running his powerwashing business etc. All I care is by ten pm things are quiet and thats the noise ordinance law btw. ok theres my fresh .02
OH and I didnt even get into the neighbors who walk their dogs to crap on my yard or the barking dogs! So yeah I'll run my compressor every day LOL

When people don't keep up with their property and let grass and weeds and junk accumilate in their yard then I think the neighbors have the right to say something. I take pride in my property and I dont want someone living next to me that could give a rats a$$. I have been in the situation where I was trying to sell a house and my next door neighbor has no consideration for his neighbors. He wouldn't trim the grass around his house and he let weeds grow up in his flower beds. His house needed painted and parts of his fence replaced. Everyone else on our block took pride in their yards and homes except for Jethro. It took me almost a year to sell my house and I had to lower the price because I had one of the Beverly Hillbillys living next door. I'm NOT saying this is the case here BUT I am saying that people should be considerate of their neighbors or don't live in a subdivision or housing development. And as far as the cacklin comment...I was kidding when I first posted that...

I agree with you 100% on maintenance. When people dont take care of their yards or property it hurts everyone around them. Not mowing or weeding is pure lazyness.
That is one of the advantages of a HOA or a deed restricted neighborhood. People have to take care of their place.
