I really don't have the patience for incompetent people who don't know what they're talking about then talk to ME like I'm the idiot. That being said, im strapped for cash and decided to go with some Ebay cheapie Xenon bulbs for my fogs. Maybe that was my first and foremost problem, lol. Anyway, I have an 05 GP, and from what I read in the HID Group Buy thread on our site, the foglight bulb size (im NOT referring to the DRLs, fogs and DRLs are two completely different things on 04+ GPs) is 898. NOT 894, I dunno what the hell 894 even fits in.

    9006-1.....67.25 (High Beam 04+)

    9007-1.....67.25 (Low Beam ONLY 97-03)

    880.....67.25 (Fog Lights 97-03)

898.....67.25 (Fog Lights 04+ (except GXP))

H11.....67.25 (Fog Lights 04+ GXP ONLY)

    BiXenon
    9007-3.....114.50 (97-03 High and Low Beam)(Telescopic style)
So, this genius who's responsible for the auction listed the sale as "06-08 Pontiac Solstice 8500K 898 foglights. Heres the link to the auction: eBay Motors: BLUE XENON 8500K 898 FOGLIGHTS 06-08 PONTIAC SOLSTICE (item 260263781217 end time Jul-23-08 19:01:57 PDT)
So I bought them and recieved them the other day and OF COURSE they sent me 894 foglight bulbs, ?! So I e-mail him and he replies with "The 894's are the same bulb as they 898." So, not only does this dumbass misrepresent his auction AND send me the wrong size, but he's actually trying to justify his screw up by telling me to put bulbs in my car that aren't even the right size. But, why not, what does he care if i fry something out or melt the fog housing, it's not his car. So i look at his feedback and apparently im not the only one he's pulled this crap with; he sent a few other ebayers the wrong bulb size than what he advertised in the auction and sat there and told them to put them in their car anyway. So im PISSED to say the least, almost insulted that this assclown is actually trying to convince me to put this sh*t into my car, like IM the one who doesn;t know what im talking about....grrrrr. Any comments welcome! Just had to vent....now on to venting on him...

^ Thank you archemedes, i figured he was wrong. It's not even about the money, they didnt cost much. It's about the fact that this guy is trying to tell ME what works in MY car, giving me false information in a way that suggests that IM the one who's wrong. Shoulda just went with an HID setup I guess

speaking from experience those bulbs look nothing like an HID once you turn them on. sell em to some dude with a honda and buy a HID setup. i posted in the group buy on which ones i bought, they shipped here in about 4 days from cali.

I know, ive owned a set for my other GP before, myself. Those were 6000K and they looked okay for a lil while, maybe these will be a little more blue and keep me happy until I can afford some HIDs. I definitely would not use these for headlight bulbs again, so ill see how the fogs look. But im actually getting a bit tired of the whole ordeal, might just say screw it and wait until I have HIDs. Thanks for the suggestion Qwik!

lol, taking her out is almost cheaper than gas, actually. I think I'll go with the HIDs though, when I get paid again. How hard was the install, do you have to be fairly familiar with electrical wiring? Did they just fit right into the hole for the stock bulb in the foglight housing or did you have to do some modification? Any pics of the ride after the install?

Nate, I feel your pains. I believe that's the same person I bought my Xenon heads and fogs from years ago. I bought a set of 880's and he sent me something different. When I asked about it, he said that they were the same bulb as the 880, only a slightly higher wattage and would be brighter. I was young and dumb then, so I put them in. I am now the proud owner of a mis-matched set of fogs because I refuse to buy from him again and I cannot remove the bulb from my driver's side housing as it is melted into place.

Anyone want to donate a fog housing to the "I'm an idiot and listened to someone from ebay" fund??

If you haven't already opened the package, make him send you the right ones and send the ones you have back to him.

Hey for some of you guys looking to buy a bulb that does look very similar to a hid. Try the Nokia bulb out. There about 40 bucks but the look is very similar though. The best i've seen and you can even get them in different color temps. I have seen the 6000k look a like and was impressed.

Sorry to hear about you encounter, Hows things been going with you and Dan?

Parker, hey man!! doing good, still loving my downpipe. Im sure Dan is just as happy with his PLOG. No more e-bay buys for me unless its from Ed Morad or a member of the GP community....this jerk on e-bay isn't even responding to the e-mails I sent him, it was only $25, but still....that's $25 that could have been much better spent on something, anything, else
