i hate it too. well i hate it when they drive slower than the speed limit when its sunny out...
People drive like they have never seen snow...its Wisconsin it snows every year!
its funny to see people who drive too fast in the ditch the first time it snows...hahaha
You're 16...you really have no room to talk about how to drive yet
stop trying to find fault in my age, i know how to drive, and i dont drive out of the comfort zone...you guys think you are really tough and macho when you try and down me because of my age, you honestly dont know anything about me.
What scares me is that most of the drivers down here in GA have no idea how to drive in the snow/ice. They think that you go slow and that all there is to it (many don't even know that much) but it is quite hilly... they don't realize that to get up a slippery slope you have to have enough momentum, and nobody leaves space between them and the car in front.
Let me see if I can pin the tail on the donkey...
You threaten people with a gun.
You can't change your own oil because you don't own a jack, yet you apparently have a family who is really big into cars.
You think your car is the best thing since sliced bread and judging from your avatar you have a heavy ass foot
You've been banned from this forum once and banned from other forums
You have a grandpa that races cars in a circle
You said you owned a Camaro but turned out it really was your dads
You have an ego bigger than Jesus
oh and...
You're 16 and from the looks of things, it looks like our American education system is doing you well too.
How am I doing so far?
Listen, I said it before and I'll say it again, we were all at your stage before and wanted to learn about cars and we are willing to help you with that, but you can not go off on people like you have in the past. This thread in particular where you are criticizing people on the road when you yourself, has less then a year driving experience which equates to less than 12,000 miles in total real road time; which isn't really anything great since all our DMV does is see if you can park and turn the car around a corner and you get a piece of plastic.
I understand you want to learn and we will help, just understand you need to adjust a few things like your ego and attitude.
And honestly, be lucky you are on here, we are all actually pretty civil. You would have been roasted and toasted on other forums such as NAISOC, Bimmerforums, ClubGP and others.

ok, may i adjust a few things in your post?
i absolutely never said i owned my dads camaro
if your going to insult my grandpa who spent his whole life building, rebuilding and racing cars, atleast get it right...its an oval lol
and i never thought my car was awesome, i like my car, its my opinion...i dont think that is illegal
and it isnt my fault i dont own a jack, if i did, my oil wouldve been changed by me
i never had any intent of harming anybody with a gun, if i must restate what i said, the guy i was fighting with hated me because he thought his car was better ( his opinion, thats fine) but he said he was going to come to my house, and attack me...and destroy my car, so i told him that if he did, he wouldnt get 50ft into my driveway because his car would already have been riddled with bullets...that is self defense sir, if someone threatens you, you have the right to defend yourself..and i wasnt serious because i knew he had no intention of coming to my house
and i do just want to learn about my car and other peoples cars...not get harassed because of what my reaction was to other peoples stupidity, please drop it
I see the results of NOT slowing down in the snow and ice every winter... and it's not pretty.
The interstate speed limit here is 65, if there's more than half an inch on the ground, Im not going above 55 or 60.. if there's more snow I'll take it down accordingly.
At 65+ mph, all it takes is one badly placed deeper patch of snow, or a thick line of snow or rut leftover from a plow to make your car lose traction completely, and I dont know about you but most 16 year olds would slam on the brakes the second they feel the car start to go wobbley. Which is why we have dead kids here every year.
Also, good luck avoiding sudden obstacles in the road, or other drivers being dicks and going normal speed in the snow.
Is the mph you're complaining about really worth hitting that random patch of snow that's gunna send you into the guard rail, or worse another driver? On a regular distance drive (10-30mins?) Is only saving you a few minutes at the end.
I think this thread is the pinnacle of having your head up your own ass. "LERN 2 DRYVE IN THE SNOW DUDE, DONT SLOW DOWN, BRO!"
i love driving in the snow, its a blast, my girl took a driving class out on a frozen lake when she lived in WI, after driving with me she goes maybe you should teach that class i took!
anyone who is already nervous about driving in the snow should really just take a bus or taxi, they are nothing but a hazard to rest of us with no hang ups.
i've gone as far as to take ppl to large parking lots, showed them how to hold the car sideways for 100 feet, and bring it back, on purpose. and tell them now go play around, that way when the car slides or jumps out from under you, you'll know how to correct it, because you made the car do it, and saved it while playing.
a few just wanted to go home after my showing them how to do stuff (pvssys) and a few stuck around lol
When I said what I said above, I just meant about being careful... just not being a dick and blowing by doing 70 when it's ice on the ground.
..Also not doing 10mph with the hazards on, that just creates an obstacle.
I agree about driving in the snow, I love to go for a drive in a snow storm, it's relaxing... I just take it easy on the pedal
Thank you, that hits the nail right on the head.
Hey think of it this way, they are going 30mph; they just saved your life because you could have been going 50mph, lost control of your car, ended up in a ditch which could have ended with you being severely hurt. Slow the flow, take your time and relax. You will get there.

I've taken classes like this
on another note, ive got well over a million miles under my belt, and I REFUSE to drive a roll off truck in the snow, why? you really need to be on your game there, at 80,000 lbs that truck can and will go where ever the fvck it wants to if the brakes lock up. what would have been a long slow stop on dry pavement now takes 10 times longer, and some jerk off just cut in front of me, its not worth the days pay, and im not up to the task of trying not to kill people.
yeah, I've got knightriders and parking brake drift down real well. But I actually do like when its real snowy and take it slow, it's relaxing. Then there is that guy in his yukon who rides your a** and drive over the limit. They scare me to death and I just wait at winter for one of them to get me a new car
ugh let me clarify what i'm getting at.
when the roads are WET from WET snow it's not necessary to drive 30 KM/HR under the speed limit (im in canada)
of course when the road is covered in snow or partially covered yes be cautious leave bigger gaps, don't cut off 80,000lb trucks, etc. it's common sense
i'm not an idiot just saying the one guy doing 80km/hr in a 110km/hr zone when doing the speed limit is more than safe is the guy thats pissing me off.
