So my rant begins a month and a half ago with me taking my car in to get the front valve cover gasket changed with the whole recall issue...anyhow some how they messed it up because the gasket started leaking really bad late lyso I took it to another Bergstrom dealership close by and the guy told me my vin still had the recall open on it so he said hed do it for free...I was in no mood to argue that it was already done and I need them to fix the mess up so I said ok just do it and get it over with. So tonight I went to the store and on the way back I got on it and my car would down shift and shake just slightly..id also get boost and then it would go away and come back right away it was odd. So i looked and they put the dog bone motor mount barely on. The bolts went in maybe 5 threads onto the nut and thast all they tightened it so my engine would rock every where. I think thats my issue...I dont have time to mess with it till morning but if anyone else has any input id love it?

Also that whole shaking only happened at WOT ive never experienced it till now..

    you need the grommets.

    for the new VC gaskets.

as for the rocking/shaking issue, I cannot comment seeing as an untrustworthy technician has worked on the vehicle and anything could be wrong.

    Don't do that.

If you're a total piss of to the advisors then they wont want to help you.

The technicians and the advisors are separate at most dealers.

If you piss the advisors off then the techs will intentionally find "nothing they did affected your vehicle" then you're back at square one.

your vehicle is ****ed and its your responsibility.

the line "ever since you touched my vehicle" is the LAST thing an advisor/tech wants to hear. They'll hold it against you, the owner for being a dick trying to rip THEM off.

I learned a LONG time ago, that if anything is wrong, and there is even the slightest possibilty that you can repair it, or learn to repair it correctly, do it yourself. I understand that this was a recall, I'm just talking about any future issues that will come up. I find it therapeutic at times, and the peace of mind that knowing the job was done right is worth the extra effort.

This thread is 100% not about me, but I would like to share. I hate to make a huge post about myself in the OP's rant....so please just bypass my post if you wish.

It was mid-March where I live and -15C outside. I had short-time access to my dad's workplace (indoor shop) and intended to change my coolant as preventative maintanence. I quickly noticed the dreaded white sludge at the rad cap. Having no LIM gaskets on hand, and not a place to do the job, I was forced to take the car to the dealership where I once worked. It was very nearby. Several mistakes were made throughout, but overall the gaskets were replaced properly.

    1. My 180F thermo was replaced with 195F, without my knowing (I have a tune for a 180F).
    2. I instructed them to replace coolant with the coolant sitting in the back seat. It was never done.
    3. I waited 3 days for them to get a supercharger gasket. So three extra days without a car.
    4. Coolant elbows not replaced.
    5. $125 for Fel-pro LIM gaskets.
    6. $13 for an oil filter.
    7. $16 shop supplies charged. Strangely, this did not include $14 of brake cleaner (used to clean the manifold, I assume).

The whole time, no courtesy car. Total cost, $600.00

So I try and do as much work as I can on the car myself.

Exactly the kind of sh*t I'm talking about. Once you get burned, it's hard to ever trust a shop with your car again.

    YUP!!!
I went to the local Chevy 'StEALERSHIP" to buy new bulbs for my DIC in my 2000 GTP. The parts guy says "we do not carry bulbs, but I will sell you a NEW DIC"
NOw, if I was that parts guy, I would not embarres myself and tell a customer that in order to replace a $2 bulb, you have to buy a $400 dash.
The other mistake I made was that this was the 2nd visit to this stearlership to find a part for my car. I should have learned my lesson the fisrt time I went there to get some doorpanel clips for the GTP. NOPE they dont have the clips, but they will sell my a $400 dool panel instead!!!
