    well I joined this forum when I bought my GP GT. this forum is very well put to gether and has a lot of active members which know their stuff. the write ups, and tech helped me out a bunch and was the main reason for joining. the classifieds helped make sure it stayed running. and no bad issues ever came up. well the GP was bought to be a DD while I was getting my galant vr4 back on the road. well the vr4 is running again, and im also picking up a jeep, so the gp doesnt have a spot in my life anymore. so I decided to give you guys some info that is blatantly refused on this forum

    DO NOT TRY AND MAKE YOUR GRAND PRIX SOMETHING ITS NOT.

    the 3800 is one of the best motors ever, the grand prix has plenty of room and comfort and a nice ride. however it IS NOT A RACE CAR. everyone seems to try and make their GPs into race cars when they are not. if you are on a track a turbo GP can run 12s, that means on the street it is a high 13s car probably 14s. which is NOT FAST. this is with exploding transmissions, and lots of replacement tires. can you give it enough power to get your fat ass to work? sure, but its not gonna run down your neighbors C6. if you guys really want a nice performance car, then just invest in another platform. Im not saying get rid of your beloved GP, nor to not upgrade it, as I have also done a full ignition/fuel replacement, along with intake and exhaust. just stop pretending that it is fast. it make you look bad as a community. it puts you in the same bracket as cavaliers and sunfires and neons. sure if you do a lot of work in can be 'quick' in a straight line, but that is your best chance.

    please flame on, trolling and bench racing is fun.

    okay. you do realize there are a billion car forums about making cars that arent remotely fast into fast cars? why is this one any different?

    its a great platform for someone looking to make a quick car for not a ton of money. if you think otherwise then youre smoking too much crack.

    i honestly have no idea why you even made this thread. none of us care your opinion lol. youre right, they arent the fastest car. no where close and anyone who thinks otherwise is welll...kinda dumb. we like these cars, we wanna make them the best they can be, whats so wrong with that?

    I think someones going to call the OP a troll and then the OP will bait them and then get banned.

    Its usually how it happens.

    His points are valid.

    But the OP's car is a race car? ahahahahahaa..... forget about it.

    I called him out in another thread to run him in a couple weeks in Morgantown. He actually thinks he has a 10 second race car in that VR4. My Bro-on-law just hit 9.95 @ 147 in his DSM and I know the work that goes into one. A Evo 16G and a down pipe isn't going to cut it.

    Like I said in the other thread.... I'll bite, but we race for bragging rights. You win I put in my sig that you beat me fair and square. If I win you don't come back and troll this board again. I'm in town for a Pen's game on the 19th. We can be down there that night.

    My beater only traps 115mph and his supposed high 10 second ride must be in the 130mph range so what does he have to lose? If he would beat me, ohhh well good for him. I am not being cocky, just ****ing hate trolls with a mother ****ing passion.

    Ha.

    If this guy thinks Grand Prix people are funny... I wonder what he thinks about a Blown 4.6 Northstar Caddy STS with a built 4t-80E trying to be a racecar, for comparing the same tech era.

    I lol'ed. I live like 30 min from morgan town, Im pretty sure ive seen this exact Vr4 last year on dual highway a few times. Swing on up to mason and lets see it run? I believe it to be decently quick. Just not what your saying. Atleast the one Ive seen was anyways, And you dont see many Vr4 galants anymore

    lol, why have the interweb if you cant have a good laugh. for anyone knocking on my POS mitsu, please do a little research. thinking that the galant vr4 isnt a race/performance car, is like saying a 67 camaro SS isnt a muscle car. this thread wasnt created to decide on my car, which feel free to research; is by all means a performance car, similar to a skyline and identical to an Evo.

    as far as my simple upgrades to my GP was only an example of how I dont believe it is a bad thing to mod your car. Not anything to do with being fast.

    as far to what you found on my profile, wasnt updated in like 2 years. and like I said I own 2 vr4s. that is not the mods at all for my current car. I will without a doubt make sure I get to run you in pitt. im not sure how im going to get ahold of you, because I will probably be banned before then. just from reading your posts, I bet we would probably get along, I think you have the wrong perception of me. Im not a tool bag that doesnt know anything. I have lots of respect for people that do exactly what you have done with ur GP. I love 'sleepers' and wouldnt knock on your car at all.
    the problem is simply the way of thinking. just because a couple people ran 12s on a track doesnt mean all gps are gonna be fast.You guys have a diluted way of thinking because you are too far into it. you need a third person perspective, that is un biased.

    you could very easily be compared to ricers. not all of you, or all the time. Im just saying be careful. are there a couple fast track neons? Yes. will a fully built neon still be able to make decent pulls on the street? Sure. so now every neon is quick, and if you just put on a turbo its fast? NO! now just replace neon with GP and you will see what type of persona you guys are forming.

    just relized im clearly not supposed to post this here. I guess this should go under the rant forum. i just considered this section like a newbie section, and didnt want to clutter up anything else.

    Mods if you could rest the banhammer, then go ahead and move this to the right section

    vr4= Not a "RACE CAR"
    GTP= Not a Race CAR"
    BUT they can be fast

    And not to talk **** but dont be a tool, look at your car I wouldnt be caught dead driving that POS but thats just my opinion.
    And dont come on a forum about the Grand Prix then talk smack about them what are you thinking?
    Oh do you have any track slips for that BEAST??? because I want to see, because my car will never be that fast, you are my Hero oh motor GOD.

    Lord have mercy...

    OP, this really could have been planned out a little better. You're not even making a valid argument here, Just because you mod your car, it doesn't mean all of a sudden you think it's a "race car". Nobody that I've seen here, has that outlook on their GP. A GP isn't a race car, and neither is your galant, it looks like you are insinuating that in your first post. There are GP enthusiast here, telling them they are wasting there time modding their cars is only asking for trouble. If they are waisting their time, well then so are you.

    This is just another dumb ass, waste of time, apples to oranges argument.

    So let me get this straight. Your saying your car is an Evo and similar to a Skyline and calling us ricers. Where does this idea come from, that if a couple of turbo GPs run 12's we all think we are fast? I have stated I am on a very basic build and one of the slower turbo GPs. Many of the turbo W cars are in the 11-10 second range.

    You have still yet to come up with a mod list or track time for your car, but still consider it a 10 second car for some reason. Do you plan on racing the car you burnt to the ground or the one you moved all of those light mods over to from the toasted one. Internet is a mother ****er, can find anything on it!

    Considering I have read through all of your VR4 post, I hope that whole car is made of Carbon Fiber or you actually have some more in depth modifications. Please let us know what that 10 second car is packing!

    I think we "ricer" GP owners have given this "race-car" driver way too much of our time.

    OP, I'm not sure where you get your air's of self importance, the picture of your mitsu in front of your mom's house certainly must not do it justice. Coming on this forum, with members that typically do not talk sh*t about their cars and being critical is inane. It sounds like you have some personal issues to work out. Good luck!

    This is coming from a guy who built a Galant that happens to have a awd drivetrain from the ever so reliable DSM cars. As you bash GP and how people think they fast you dumped how much into your obese eclipse. Once you got it in the 11s how many passes did you make before you broke it and hve to tear it down again. So I tell you just because your 4 door has AWD and a turbo dosent mean you gota racecar yet yourself.
