Well i got the three lights of doom on my Xbox, took it all apart replaced the bold on the coils with something that would hold it tighter with new silicon. Well the three light turned off and it was turning on, then two to light. Well i have been looking online for a week now trying to see what went wrong, I fixed one Xbox, but sold it so i don't remember what to do, thinking about just taking my 45 to it.lol.

Simple fix - go to Gamestop - purchase PS3 and be done with it...

ps3 has the laser issue though
mine went out on me costs like 120 to take in and get fixed
mine died the first day i had mw2 i was pissed

ps3 works with netflix to we have ps2 ps3 and wii i want a xbox so i can get project natal

i'm not gonna jump on board with natal yet. I wanna see some better applications of the technology other than cheap arcade style games.

I've had my PS3 since they first came out, 0 problems!
Anyone that wants dunked on go buy PS3 and NBA Live. If you want to race go buy gran turismo 5.

i almost broke down and sold all my xbox stuff to buy a ps3...
I bought my 1st xbox back in 06, and since then, i'm now on my 5th one. All of them except my last xbox were replaced for free for the 3 red lights. My last one, the drive went out, and it was gonna cost $120 to get it fixed, even though, the thing was less than a year old. Xbox told me that all other issues are only under warranty for 90 days.......so....your telling me that xbox is only guaranteeing their system will work for 90 days? skeet. I took it apart to fix it myself after watching online vids, but xbox makes the drives now to only they can fix it and regular customers cannot. skeet.
so, sold the xbox for $20, and bought an elite with a 2 year service plan. I had too much stuff for the xbox to sell and only be able to afford a new ps3, controller and 1 game

Had my ps3 almost 2 yrs no problems my xbox on the other hand I think I'm on my 4th one sofar. The only reason I still have xbox is to play fm3.

Weird, my NES and Genesis have never had any problems. Did you try blowing on the cartridge?

You can order a kit... you basically just replace the thermal conact on the heat sink... usually solves it.
I'm on my second PS3, first one was from launch and held up for maybe 2 years, this ones been doing just fine ever since.

well changed the bolts on the both the heat sinks, put new silicon on it and got rid of the three light then it went green and switched to two reds (overheating). so i am going to get some smaller bolts and change the rubber washers i was using to something a little better. Wanting to change the fan to upgrade it but need to fix it first.lol.

Mine actually got red rings of death on Friday night. I'm sendng it in for free tho. Even tho it's out of warranty they are covering it since it's the first time...

xboxs are designed to fail, thats why they have a 'death guage' (red ring) built in! ive had my PS3 since the first year they came out with no probs, the graphics are better and online play is free, WIN
