    two rants on this one.

First, I decided to do a tune-up on the raptor today. well I changed the oil, then took it for a ride, when I was done, I parked in the the shed, as soon as I cut it off, SPLASH! all the oil burts out of the bolt hole...! cleaned the bolt and took a close look...Yamaha used "crushable" gaskets! sooo all that expensive yahama-lube is on the floor and the gasket just went to dust. Who the hell would use such?

Second, my bro-in-law brung his Mazda 6 over cause he's mechanically Declined! He had a headlight out. I take the 2 bolts out, but somethings still holding it. look closer, find a plastic thing that locks in. So Ok, I know this one, get a flathead and pry the middle up, then the outside plastic will slide out. did so, only the middle plastic pulled up and then the head of the plastic went flying...

also snappd my only Suzuki key to the motorcyle in half today and it wasn't even in the ignition. (Don't Ask!)

Talk about WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MECHANICS!!!

The shop at my work replaced one of those gaskets with either the same or a non crushable one and it leaked out, engine died and they had to replace it.

No one ever did **** before that, now they/we replace every drain plug gasket when doing an oil change.

^^^ Yeah I think ur suppost too. this was my 2nd oil change on ATV ( hehe is still has low hours ). when the dealership filled it with oil they probably torque'd it to the right spec. I did an oil change ( which the 1st change I probably torque'd it alil too much, which crushed it ). The second change I did, it just failed on me.

it wasn't u at the shop who did the oil change was it? lol

thats good. when I first met my wife, I did an oil change on her caviler. I took the filter out and it was pretty much Melted and desigrating. I asked her who changes her oil. she said this shop in town. well apparently they dont change filters cause that one had some MILES!

    ?

Oil changes are so easy to do though.

My mom won't even let me do hers even though I could do it with synthetic for less than what she pays for the regular ****.

His car went into limp mode because it detected it hadn't had an oil change in like 30 000 miles... wouldn't go past 3000 RPM and this car I regularily get up to red line just north of 6K just to get up to speed...
