So, today I put in a new axel on the drivers side, since it would make vibration when accelerating around right hand corners, moral of the story, the axel is great and the vibration is gone. But now there's another problem, a bigger problem. During my test run on the highway I was in the left lane, a slight bend to the right was coming up, so to "test" it I hit the gas hard and moved over two lanes to the right, next thing I know I see a trooper behind me with the lights on, which was a good 400 yards back. Aparently he must have been in the slow (right) lane and I blew by and got in front him at 95mph in a 55. I guess I didn't recognize him because most troopers around here are crown vic's but there are a couple of unmarked ford expeditions, so he just blended right on in.

So I got a ticket for wreckless driving, the trooper was actually pretty nice, but I guess he wasn't happy about me passing him at almost 100mph. He told me "you need to slow down, you go any faster, were gonna have to scrape you up with a snow shovel".

So he came up to the window to ask me for my ss# which he wrote on the ticket, which also has the date that I am to appear in court. I started to ask alot of questions as to what the punishment could be, and he explained, then gave me my copy of the ticket. I noticed on the ticket he noted my hair as black, well it's brown and my license says it too,. I also realized at the bottom where the court date is, where im suposed to sign to agree that i know the i have a court date and it's a promise to appear, He forgot to have me sign the ticket, I'm gonna call a lawyer on Tuesday to see what they say, i'm hoping that Í can get the charges dropped being he messed up and I never signed the ticket. He should have had me sign his copy so all the carbon copies had it, oh well I guess he will have to turn in his unsigned copy. Hopfully his mistake is my blessing.

Question. What would you have done going those speeds if your axle install failed?

    Just wondering really.

How much is the ticket for?
I don't recall signing any of the tickets I have gotten, one down by Chester and one in Hartord......I should have way more but the Veterans tag on the car helps.
Each ticket they just handed to me and that was it.
Go to court and it should get reduced. Where did you get the ticket at?

There is no price, it's a misdemeanor summons and a mandatory court date. I got the ticket at exit 4 on I-95, I live in Greenwich.

Do you go to court in Greenwich or Stamford......sorry I'm up north so I would have to deal with Hartford or New Britian.
There is no fine on the ticket?

I have to go to stamford court, nope no fine. Aparently wreckless diriving is techincally a crime that they arrest you for, he just gave me a summons to appear in court, but forgot to have me sign it. unfortunately for that charge they make you go before the judge, and he decides the punishment. It could range from as they say "substantial fines" or 30 - 90 day suspension, or possibly both. I'm hoping to atleast get it reduced, since I never signed the document agreeing that I recieved the summon and understand that I have a court date.

Oh man that's a drag, hope it goes alright for you. When I went to court they did reduce the fine and the officer does not appear....most states if the cop doesn't show for court the ticket will get thrown out but not in CT so don't count on that angle. Since yours is for wreckless driving he might be there....idk.

I got $375 in fines and 4 hour traffic school which in IL is incredible, not sure how Connecticut is but around here reckless driving is like committing murder.
Without a GOOD lawyer I most likely wouldn't have license right now and I'd be looking at a couple grand in fines.

Connecticut is the same if your under 24 years old it's 2 moving violations, then you have to go to a 4 hour traffic class and it cost $60, 3rd ticket is an auto 30 day suspension. I just want to avoid suspension.

Only way to avoid the suspension when you get nailed at that speed in my experience is a lawyer, I'd try to find one that knows the procecutor.

rmm...you ALWAYS sign the ticket its not assuming guilt it is only stating you got a copy. Its kinda like your word on there word. You don't show up for court you get arrested for failure to appear well you could pull the whole I didn't know they pull there ticket book and BAM there is your john hancock! Every cop that issues you a ticket is to get your signature. If they don't then well they arent doing there "job".

Even if you try to deny receiving it, you would have to explain who it was on the video driving your car and giving your license and registration to the officer...

I'm just hoping to get it reduced to a smaller speeding ticket, 86mph and up is considered wreckless driving in ct, such BS.

31 over with other traffic around and it's BS?

And don't count on not signing the ticket getting you anything. You screwed up, man up to it.
