The stock 180* will run around 190. Just where it runs. Hence the reason we all go to 170. Or 160 if you're a lms fan.
And all those issues you found. As far as drivability. Are things you should have found on a nice long test drive. Heck. When I test drove mine, they said if I wanted to keep it over night. Just make a phone call. As they threw me the keys.
The oil light ? That's unfortunate. But since the dealer was aware of the mods. They have to cover it for you. This was a cpo buy correct?
"As is", I did a 30 minute test drive, but where the dealership is, most of the roads where twisty back roads. Never got the car over 60 (nearest interstate was an hour away). The shaking, I did notice, but I thought it was coming from the tire, that I knew I was going to ask to get fixed. (yeah that's on me for thinking it was the tire) I did not notice the transmission, the cruise control wouldn't have kicked off unless a car was in front, and there weren't any. The hesitation seems to come and go, I don't know why.
I really like the car, and im not getting another one close to the price, Im still on the fence about returning it, because I realize once I sort it out, it will be amazing.
The dealer has been shifty about the whole thing, As I said they conveniently lost my We Owe (which I should have ensured I had a copy of. every other car ive bought I got the copy in my documents )
I found the sales guy who sold it and he assured me hed sort it out by Monday. Ive called every day this week, and still cant get an answer. Yesterday I called the sales guy, got put on hold for 5 minutes and sent to a voicemail. Ive been patient, but ive run out of patience. They can give me an answer to today or im calling FoMoCo,

You should of got copy of WE OWE. If they lost theirs that's a problem. Depending what extended warranty you purchased it will vary ...but a simple phone call will hurt them in several ways ....it may you to because you may end up with a car with no warranty..The service dept advisor is also the adjuster up to a certain dollar amount and can over look simple mods that really don't hurt parts(or even if they do..LOL) sometimes. If you paid cash well....always good test drive and a hoist...period!! If you financed and it hasn't funded the dealership you can get it unwound. Bottom line is Used car and it is as is...... unless specified otherwise. And remember there are always three sides to every story...
I will 100% agree that the dealer is trying to screw you. Which sucks. When I bought mine, it's been the only experience I've had with an actual big dealer. And they've been amazing to work with. I'd be calling ford if I was you. And then call the dealer after and inform them, that ford will be calling them.
I got a call from the dealer yesterday afternoon. They ARE going to fix it. I don't trust the sales department, they've been skeevy and rude.
The service department has been pretty good.
When I was up there getting it diagnosed and they told me id have to pay, I didn't get mad (outside or in action )I just tried to sort it out.
I live an hour from them, and went to schedule it on Saturday. The service writer told me they only do oil changes and filters on Saturdays, but since I was patient, theyd make an exception. The service writer is also the one who called me back, not the sales people, I was also told that given the situation, they would work around the mods as far as warranty work is concerned. Theres also a law that says vehicle warranties cannot be voided by mods, but that if a mod causes the failure they can refuse to cover it.
Im pissed that I got a modded car, but I REALLY like it, and the service people have been good.
Lol, good luck with that friend... Most tunes on newer can only be changed with the tuner that's married to the ECM.... (The one used originally to upload the tune)
So unless the dealership has the tuner that originally flashed it, and flashes it back to stock, and unmarried the unit. You can take all the bolt-on's in the world off... car's still tuned to optimize them.
BUT! With that being said, I have no idea what flash tuner was used, or who's files are on it... So what I posted may not be entirely true for your application.. I have been wrong before... hope everything works out for you!

^ford can flash it back to stock. But they charge you for it.
You are out of your mind to keep the car. Just my opinion... I wouldn't accept a moment of excuses, would demand to keep talking up the food chain escalating the sale and return until I was satisfied, up to and including sitting outside their lot with a huge sign saying they sell using deceptive practices which is a true statement. I would also consider small claims court, BBB complaints, social media, etc. You do not have to keep that car! I would be a thorn in their side until getting rid of me was less a hassle than taking the car back. See, if they're willing to fix it, why wouldn't they prior to selling it? Because they don't want to spend the $ and figured they'd screw someone, guess what, it's you! They will do minimal fixes until you're quiet or quit, give up fighting. They will do just enough to drag it out till you can't complain anymore. Find out who owns the dealership and immediately contact that person, don't take no for an answer.
good luck...
Call and email Ford.
I did it years ago with a self destructive windstar. Told them how much I like Ford, blah, blah, blah.
Blow alot of smoke up there hineys.
They reimbursed me $500 for out of warranty repairs.
My 2013 Taurus has horrible gremlins. Gremlins up the ass. All not covered and all would be hard to nail down. You learn to deal.
I would return the piece of **** though.
I Cannot find a legal leg to stand on, Virginia is a no return state (basically once you buy an as is car its yours) The warranty will not be voided by the tune, and quite honestly, i dont have the cash to get a laywer involved at this point, The friend whos parent is a laywer has suddenly gone silent. I dont want to make demands until i know im legally backed up in making them.
That said, 2 times this week ive gotten a low oil pressure light, and they are ****ing me over on the warranty, They claim they "punched" it in the first part of the month. Ive called the warranty people several times, the last time i called i was told as soon as they punch it, it becomes active in their system. So obviously something didnt happen. im betting the Finance manager did it wrong hes clearly incompetent, he lost the We Owe, he didnt have me sign my auto draft and the bank almost revoked my loan.
But here is whats really pissing me off, No one will answer my calls, i tried three times to talk to the finance manager over the phone, each time i got voice mail. Tuesday, i called and left a message with the receptionist to have him call me. Nothing, Today i called asked to speak to the General manager. I was told he was in a meeting, so i left my name and number, was told id get a call by 3. Nothing. Clearly these people are ducking me. Im already Angry about the duplicitous nature they displayed selling me a modded car. My loans gone through, i have a copy of the warranty contract, and a recorded call saying it would be active immediately after being entered. Tomorrow im driving up their, and im going to sit in the show room, until the GM talks to me. They are getting 4 options, 1. Get the warranty working immediately, 2. Cancel the warranty and ill buy it from my local ford dealer, (i confirmed with them i can do this) 3. I involve a third party (BBB, Fomoco, Lawyer Etc) 4. they take the whole damn thing back. Ive got 18,000 worth of car and warranty and at this point i cant use either. Im a big fan of teddy rosevelt diplomacy in these situations (speak softly but carry a big stick). Ive spoken softly, now its time for the stick. Outside of the options above, im more than happy to plaster facebook, twiter etc with reports of what they did, contact ford and explain that I a 22 year old college student got screwed over by them, and that the situation will keep me from buying another ford unless its resolved, and that ill recommend the same to everyone i know, Ill contact auto trader edmunds, dealer rater etc , let them know their deceptive sales practices, plaster any dealer review site with negative reviews Contact my local news station with the story. Ill go thermo nuclear.
All this because the car wasn't looked over/test driven thoroughly. Pretty nuts.
