If I enquire on a CL ad, and am told the item is sold, and find the ad still on CL the next day (or a few days later), I enquire again. Repeat as you see fit. If is fun to hear people get pissed off when you call them 4 days in a row. LOL
This is as bad as the guy who says he wants to buy something then just straight up stops replying to you.
I like bronco boys idea tho
Yeah. I had something listed, guy emails me asking questions, offers a lowball price, I reply with what I am willing to go down to (which isn't much different than his offer), he stops responding. A few weeks go by and he emails to ask if I still have it, I respond saying yes, and he never emails me again.
I'm selling a bunch of my 4x4 parts (axles and such). If I had a dollar for every time some chump said to me..... "You still have the axle? You do, great. I'll contact you next week when I get paid." And never hear from them again. Damn web shoppers! LOL
Before I bought the GP I was looking at an Explorer. E-mailed buddy and made arrangements to talk on the phone the next day. I called and left a message. Waited around all day for a reply. Nothing. The next day I see buddy has a new ad up with something about "don't waste my time if you aren't going to call". I called and ripped him a new asshole, then went and bought a GP. LOL
i had a scammer want to by my boat, when I found out that he was a scammer somehow his eMail address got flooded with ads from tranny dating sites from all over the world.
LOL
If it didn't work, they wouldn't be doing it. Sad but true.
The scam that we have had lately is the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), the tax man, they call and leave you a threatening message saying that you owe money and the police are on their way. The last sucker that fell for this was asked to get $5000 worth of iTunes gift cards. One lady stayed on the phone and bought the cards right away. Really? The government wants you to pay in gift cards? You are a very special kind of stupid and deserve to get hosed. The funny part is that they've left me at least 20 messages over the past year; the guy sounded like and East-Indian trying to do a French accent. It was comical.
Remember, there is a sucker born every day. Probably more than one, but at least one. LOL
that pack of scum bags have been doing the irs scam here for over a year now, how dumb you have to be to go get them gift cards????
the best part is they dont even know your name when they call. fishing for the dumb.
The best way to deal with that type is to do what I did to the assholes calling my mom a few years back.
Long story short, I took the phone from my mom as she tried to reason with them. Went on a cuss filled tirade. Then the asshole told me it wasn't necessary to use such language to which I responded, it was necessary when you are scamming people out of their hard earned money. I went on to tell him I had friends with connections I and I knew who he was and had sent his information to the FBI.
She never got another call....
A story of scammers getting scammed.
