maybe it would help filter stuff if we move the general tech, tech tips, how to stuff to the top of the page and put the lounge and rant forum down
and add subtitles for all the sections saying here's whats in here, here's what you should post here.
I think you're taking this a bit to far. It's a forum.. it's called, public discussion.
Ive been told to use the search button, but i had, and the subject(s) i was redirected to where similar, but different to my question and it helps with nothing. I just hope it doesnt get too out of hand, where my posts are deleted and I get redirected to a similar but different topic.
sounds good......maybe public humiliation will work also
matt...shut up, im getting away with this so well.
Read post #1. Exactly why I vouched for Bio as a Mod! Someone on here all the time to help keep grandprixforums.net the top grandprix site on the internet. Nothing wrong with the others but they dont have chat HAHA
because he's an idea thief and opposed it originally?
I chat when I can, its just kinda hard when I am at work monitoring 2,000+ servers around the globe making sure Stock transaction data is being delivered from the source to us and then from us to our clients around globe. Bio has one of those cushy IT positions obviously
He also consistently shows up as the top poster.
Unfortunately, the useless posting on this site doesn't seem to be slowing down any. It seems there are a few people on here who are only interested in getting their post count up. They chime in with something to say about everything and generally it is nothing useful. I just read a thread that had four posts added to it caused by a misspelled word.
This site has some great info and some very knowledgeable people. It's just too bad you to read through so much garbage to find the useful stuff.
Since you quoted me and couldn't answer your questions in that post, I'll clarify it:
That's an easy one. Read the responses and look at the number of people who thanked Bio for the idea that started this thread. I did notice though that matt5112 thanked Bio originally, but thanks you as well for basically opposing it. I guess everybody is entitled to change their opinion.
I come on here for the same reason as many others do. There is a lot of useful information here. I try to learn what I can and help others looking for the same. If you want to clog up the chat or the general forums, go ahead. That's what they are there for. The tech threads about how to fix problems, how to properly mod, etc. don't need to be clogged by people pushing up their post count with useless comments.
I have a job and a family and don't have unlimited time to read threads. I do searches for info and come back with hundreds of threads and multiple posts in each one. It can take a long time to find what you are looking for because of all the garbage you have to filter through. Maybe this is partly why so many people give up on using the search button and then get flamed by the same people who are clogging it up?
I'm not new to car forums, but this one surprises me how many people are so rude and nasty about anything they disagree with or don't like. There are a few (Reptile for example) that when disagreed with, respond in a civil manner and support their information. It's too bad more people here don't have the class and tact to do the same. I'm glad to see Bio jumping in once in a while and putting an end to some of threads that start to deteriorate into bashing. Flame on!
There is a fine line between 100% useless posts and marginally useless posts.
If we weren't allowed to get a little out of line, this place would become very boring very quickly.
wow! a lot of you guys have gotten really whiny since the last time I really read any threads here.
