Is this the meet that was causing all the rukous on FB?
|
Yep.. because auston set it all up by copying and pasting all the stuff from the Michigan meet or something and they got mad at him.
Ah I see... Yea they had an issue similar to that with some guys from Grand Rapids doing the same thing. With the amount of time they put into it I can totally see them getting a little angry at people coping them even a little.
Daryll got upset because it used to say "Gathering" so he changed it to "Meet" and all is well lol.
This in a nutshell, lol.
So I changed one word. A few weeks later someone made the whole thing public. I don't get the damn big deal, but a lot of Darryl's leg humpers joined in saying I was a criminal. No, I just didn't care enough because it's a damn car meet. I might have sympathized if he was a little more mature in handling the matter back on the 9th, but he wasn't.
As the rant forum thread says, the GP facebook groups are worse than useless due to things like this.
As of 12/28 we have 18 going and 15 maybe. Should be a good showing!
Tentative forecast is 42 degrees and cloudy.
If you go I'll meet up with ya in Ohio and convoy with ya and throw wings your way lol.
Put me down as a "maybe". Would be cheaper to make it to the meet-up than to buy/rent a pulley puller. (hint hint anyone)
Got a new "solid"/sloshy motor mount to pass off to whoever.
Dan has a pulley puller. Stop by his house in Coldwater on the way down (near St. Mary's).

LOCATION UPDATE
Due to the weather forecast being 45 degrees and rain, we are moving the location to Tim Horton's. The address is 4465 Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek OH 45440. We will meet at the same time - 11:00 AM. Bring any parts that you may be interested in buying, selling, or trading. Hope to see everyone there!

Clay talked about the possibility of having the meet on a lower level of the parking garage, since the weather will be mild (by Ohio standards). If this is the case, we will post somebody at the Tim Horton's to direct all incoming members.
I can't make it I have to work
All in all a good day. I got some 04+ needles, Clay and Nick got some go fast parts, and Keith's idler pulley was replaced.
Turnout was good considering the weather (low 40's and rain). We had people come from as far as Pittsburgh for the meet. W-bodies of all kinds were represented - Grand Prix, Impala, Regal.
We'll plan another meet for mid-March. That will probably be a mod day. And then a track day in May, most likely Tri-State Dragway in Hamilton, OH.
Look for a Facebook group to be created soon as well as another event.
Thanks to everyone for coming out. Hope to see you all again soon!
How many people made it in all?
We had a total of 10, although no more than 8 at any one time (two left early, and two came late).
In Clay's words, we didn't have quite as many people as the last meet last February... it was nevertheless a far more successful one because no cars left the meet on the back of a tow truck.
Celebrities on tow trucks, Josh.
As we intend on making this a regular meet and greet, I have created a Facebook group for all Dayton-area 3800 meets:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/817648981642295/
We will post everything there in addition to here on GPF when the time comes.
Tentatively we are looking at the weekend of March 14-15, weather permitting as a "mod day".
A track day (either Kil-Kare or Tristate) will be in May.
