As usual - I had a great time. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new folks and reuniting with those I haven't seen in far too long. I wish that I could have come down earlier in the week and spent more time with the group - but hopefully next year.
I, for one; am guilty of taking for granted, all that is involved with putting together - and keeping together - an event like this. So many people, including myself, look forward to this gathering every year.
It's always run smoothly and well organized. The issue with the track this year was unavoidable - thanks to the folks running the track. But when you're up against an NHRA-backed function - you will lose, that's just the way it is.
2009 has certainly had it's up's and downs - and noone more than the folks that organized this event for US - has dealt with them, on some level.
Chris and Sheryl - thank you - you are amazing people, and I am truly, truly overjoyed that I know you, and can call you friends. I know...just don't actually call you. Ever.
Mystie (and that jacka$$ you're married to) - love you, no really. That's a promise. You too, jacka$$. It would have been uber cool to have the Him and Her GP's there this year - and I sincerely hope it happens next year.
James - my friend, you're always going to be "solid" in my book. But you really are like a camera toting sniper ninja...I don't know how you do it. You always say how funny you think I am - dude - there are times that you have absolutely killed me. (Please start drinking Jaeger again - I miss those days)
Big Joe - the quiet man. I'm convinced that the only way this event can happen is if you and your quiet steadiness are there to counterbalance my...me. Thanks for everything you did and do. Next year - we should room together and see what cosmic and/or seismic shift that may cause. (20 seconds after I wrote this - I came back to it and almost deleted it...just because of how it sounded. But then I decided to leave it. For exactly the same reason.)
Kelly - I don't know you as well as other's in our little KCPMC family, but I do know you well enough to know that you put a smile on my face - because in spite of what you've been through...you still managed to put one on yours and be with us. Thank you for that and all you did in helping to get this event together, too.
To all the folks I met - it was DAMN nice to put a face with the name - and hang out with all of you.
Zach - I know I told you there - but I was flat-out impressed that you not only got that car done - but also how fawking SICK it sounds. Well done, bro...well done indeed. Oh yeah - glad you made it, too.
Shawn - always good to see you pal - we have to be sure to keep each other updated on our future "projects" :nudge nudge wink wink:
Dave and Jen - what can I say? You won't adopt me, so I'll have to settle for seeing you whenever I can - which is never enough. Yes - I'm speaking only for myself.
Chody and Ashley - you two, just might be the perfect couple. Which makes me sick with envy. Love you both - maybe a tad too much for my own good. Ashley, I hope you didn't have any neck pain - I mean - you had both of us to just sit and shake your head at. Mark my words, Chody - if you ever let her go - I will kick your a$$. And then promptly ask her out. Write that down.
To those of you that didn't make it this year - no excuses now (except for that hot mama with an inflamed gall bladder, you get a pass ); you've heard about the past events - and now you've heard about this years'. You have 360 days to get your sh!t together for BGPM IV. We hope to see you there.
