I think the Aeroforce gauges are pretty bad-ass, and despite not having a souped up car (yet) I've been wanting some for awhile now so that I don't have to haul my laptop everywhere to monitor general info like KR and actual temps, and just to show them off etc .
So having cash burning a hole in my pocket, I'd been trying to find someone local-ish to buy from before the long Labor Day weekend. That has failed repeatedly due to conflicts in schedules, selling to other people before I could get there, etc. So I emailed the sales dept at Aeroforce seeing if they had local vendors to buy new from.
Nope. But turns out Aeroforce is in Ohio. About an hour away.
Emailed Todd (President of Aeroforce) back and forth a few times getting specifics of what I wanted down and took the bike across the Turn Pike (continuous toll highway across Ohio) out to where they assemble them. While Aeroforce doesn't have a retail store front, if you know what you want they can have them assembled and available to be picked up there (programming and assembly takes a couple days). The biggest delay was that they didn't have any "GTP" logo lenses on hand and had to make them.
Yep, make them. Found out the circuit boards are made in Michigan, but they get programmed and everything else assembled in Ohio, so made in USA! I was informed that the first gauges were in fact made for a 2004 GTP as well, which is cool.
I didn't stay long since I'm not really social and Todd is a busy guy, but I got to see the bench where he tests each gauge with a simulator and see a bunch of stock awaiting assembly so that was pretty cool to me. Picked up a triple set and an oil pressure sensor, and saved more on shipping than I spent on gas.
