Some pcm's I can tune without any problem and some won't let me touch them and when I try to write a file to that pcm it says that the file isn't compatible. What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to fix it?

I just started running into something similar to this with my DHP recently also. I have tuned multiple GT/GTP's a 03 SSEI, a 02 Monte SS a few 3.1L Malibus even. Never a problem, tried downloading a tune from a 01 SSEI I get a "unsupported PCM" message. 3 days later I went to turn security off on a 00 Impala with a L36 and it says "unsupported" again. I figured I could probably just tune a supported base file out of the database and upload it onto the PCM over the unsupported file. Neither car was actually at the shop though and I don't want to try it for the first time on someone elses PCM and end up bricking it.
What do you need to know. I can take screen shots tomorrow
the DHP only supports the newest OSID's for each year make model trim. if the car never had the pcm updated from the dealer and has an early OSID the tuner will reject the file. You can use the cars VIN to check the correct OSID for it. http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web then if you have that OSID, just do a full write over top of the existing file.
If you need the bins that DHP supports plus the rest of the crap I have. Send me your email and I'll link you to dropbox where I have all this stuff.
