I have an 04 CompG, I'm gonna be doing some basic mods to and adding to them as I go. So I can't see the point in sending my PCM out everytime I change something to get a reflash. Plus I can get a better tune than a canned tune. So I am looking into a HP tuner. I understand that it costs 2 credits at $50 each to unlock my car, now is that a one time deal or does it cost credits everytime I hook it back up and change something on my car? Also is the MPVI PRO worth the extra $150? I like how you can hook your wideband right into the unit and not have to run it through the egr. It's also kinda neat that it will datalog without the laptop hooked to it. What wideband would I need to purchase? I'm a newb at efi tuning and I'm not big with computers but I'm sure I can figure it out especially after reading the starting hp tuners thread. Just had a couple questions is all. Thanks!

I use the wideband through the egr sensor and it works fine for me. I would spring for the pro if you want to wideband tune someone else's car though. And you only have to pay for the credits once for each PCM. Or you can buy unlimited year/model for like 8 credits so for example you can tune as many 2001 grand prixs as you want for 8 credits. Oh and I have the LC-1. I like it because it has the ability to calibrate in open air.

I would never get HPT for a 3800 car.. get DHP, make changes, sell DHP, spend no money.

Pro is worth the extra money.

04+ cars don't have all the options in HPT like the 97-03 cars do, but there is enough there to get a good tune on the car.

    2001 GTP Drag Car - XPZ, Tischler heads, Upsidedown M90 IC'd, e85, Gen V, 2.3 w/ 5%OD
    2005 F350 6.0 - studded, deleted, tuned
    2001 GTP - cam, headers, nitrous, stock trans - 11.83 @ 116 <$2k in mods - sold
