Got my 04 NA GT buttoned up and running. I'm using my 01 trans in this car because it is overbuilt and will be great when i finish my l67 and drop it in. (inside the trans is 04+, I've swapped the wiring, VB and channel plate, and pump)

I dont know why, but I'm getting a code for incorrect gear ratio on my tuner when I do my scans(I own a DHP ) and when i take it around the block for a test drive it is SLAMMING from gear to gear. I know not to drive the car until it's fixed so I need to know what to change under my transmission settings. I do not know which reluctor wheel I have in the trans, all I know is that is was built by dave at TEP.

My trans has 3.29 gearing and I thought that all GTs had 3.29s from the factory so I thought it would drop in with no tuning required.

03+ trans have different valve bodies. Tune the trans settings how you has your 01 tuned and it should work everything out.

If your using hpt, log into their website and navigate tot the repository. You should find an 01 file in there.

One other thing it could be on the tune is the wrong vss pulse. I did that once on my 04 and it was shifting really hard.

Scan the "gear ratio" and change the sprocket ratio in HPT accordingly. 3rd gear should show 1:1, so if it is anything but that just adjust the sprocket ratio by number by the same percentage.

Either search on Darkhorizon and find the zip file with DHP bins or go to Bonnevillepro.com and get the bin. Or log into powrtuner and get the bin. Take your choice.. but there's a ton of free bins available.

As well.. what DH says should work.

Come to think of it, I had my vss pulse wrong on my tune and it shift hard and went into limp mode. If I remember right that's based on year.

What VB / Channel plate did you toss on it? They are different between a CompG and GT/GTP 04+ trans.

gonna have to use tinytuner to adjust the sprocket ratio then.

FYI, 04+ Normally aspirated cars have 3.05 gearing. That's why you're PCM is confused with your trans.

dark horizon what should the sprocket ratio be set to?

Also, anyone know how to find out how many teeth my ISS reluctor wheel has on it? I never thought to count it when I replaced the Channel plate and VB.

Just use a bin that has the right ratio and copy that info over.

Sprocket ratio is the same 1:1. The 3.05 gearing is determined by the size of the sun and planetary gears in the diff. If you don't want to do any tune correction, just swap the diff from the other trans

    Finally figured it out!
I kept copying the transmission file from a 3.29 car over and it still threw the code!

Opened it in tiny tuner as suggested and noticed I saw a ton of stuff in the transmission folder that wasn't visible before. Unfortunately I could not do a mass copy but I copied every table one by one and it works! I gotta figure out why it won't shift from first to second at WOT but I don't think will be a hard fix. I appreciate all the help and info you guys have given me
