1993 Bonneville SSEi, S2 L67 retrofit, recently installed the NIC cam. Have a bung for a wideband installed at the rear collector.
Was originally planning on going to ZZP for the tune, but they cost a lot and I'm still doing some other mods that will throw off the tune (Fabbing a hood scoop CAI and plan to pulley down). Some things I think I really need to get set are the idle, disable torque management, and get a baseline on the fuel trims and timing, and maybe remove the SES for a code or two (those kind of things). Before the cam install, I was getting about 5lbs of boost at 3k-5k, with a jump to 7lbs just before the shift; intake and exhaust are P&P. Not sure I'm safe to go WOT before I get a baseline tune or I'd have those boost numbers.
Anybody in SW or SE michigan that knows how to tune with the NIC? I wouldn't be opposed to learning to tune either, but not interested in spending $500 to deal with the HPT extra tokens I won't ever use unless I get the itch to convert a '93 L67 to OBD2 (in which case I'd unlock all '98 bonneville pcms and use that for both, but that car needs...work...).
Also, any additional provisions I need (dynamat the knock sensor or trans case, etc?)?
TIA
