When doing my LTFT tuning, I was getting -45% to -50% readings on the histograms but ~15% on the charts/gauges. I'd adjust my VE table accordingly from the histograms and it would make it so rich, it wouldn't start. I looked at the default VE-LTFT histogram configuration and it was reading from the Sensor-LTFT. Not sure if it was the correct default setting, but I changed it to the PID-LTFT Bank 1 SAE and started getting the same trim % from the charts. Would that be the correct reading I'm looking for, Bill?

I wouldn't use fuel trims to adjust VE.

It puts you at the mercy of your NB, and your PCM's decisions as to what constitutes "lean" and "rich" which by the way, are entirely variable on certain conditions.

Well, I don't have a WB yet. I'm just trying to get the hang of this from reading all these different threads on everyone's different methods on how to tune. lol. I just can't imagine those -50% readings were correct. Trial and error is were I'm heading.

I agree that values that extreme are not correct.

But neither is your VE if you're using fuel trims.
