Ok my grand prix has an Overkill pcm and it has no cat. I asked Will to tune out the codes for the cat. But am still wondering if it will pass the obd2 scan for my inspection?

Depends on how my system monitors your state allows to show "not ready". With no cat, the Catalyst monitor will always show "not ready".

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

And that would be incorrect. With the code changed to no report, that monitor shows as ready.

but do they "look" for the cat to be there?

NJ just had cameras put in the floor and as you drive over it the tech can see the monitor, and you can see your whole exhaust.

before that they used mirrors on a stick.

Even if they did look it looks like I have a catalytic converter there anyways. I bought a fake 3 inch stainless steel cat online. Which is a 3 inch piece of stainless pipe that is shaped like a catalytic converter.
