    hey guys
im researching these plug in PCMs for the onboard computer to boost HP and "maybe even gas mileage"

anyways...im curious as to what to use for just a basic plug in application. i had one in my old S10 with the 4.3L and it was a simple plug in install. Im reading on the board here that there are ones that can be flashed?

im just curious as to what to use for just a basic install, no programming needed, with put-you-back-in-the-seat power.
there are things all over ebay that advertise 20 HP and more mileage, and there are some that are just a simple resistor that plugs into the air flow sensor...
    so many options...

    any opinions on these?

thanks for your replies, im sure this is a dead topic somewhere in the archives...

If you're not spending atleast 100-200 you're wasting your money, it won't work
That being said, ZZP, DHP, OverKill, I think there's others...
These are PCMs to look at for a "off the shelf" tune
Keep in mind, these are PCMs, not a HyperChip.
Also, people like me have picked up tuners, so we can scan edit, scan ,edit,...
You'll pay more for a tuner, but get a better result in the long run!
Also, I can tune for 87 octane and high mileage, then flash the PCM for 110 octane for a day at the track!
Ask around, maybe you have a local tuner you don't even know about...
No trees were destroyed for this message.
However, a great number of pixels were extremely inconvenienced.

Most PCMs can be flashed unless the company who tuned it locked it. The PCM in you car right now can be flashed.

Don't buy the crap on eBay. Get a tuned PCM from a w-Body vendor or buy tuning software and take the time to learn how to do it yourself.

And things like that are what will screw up your car.
