Hi all
I have my E85 tune all set, very low knock and trims are good. I am having random starting issues when I startup in the mornings. The temperature is around 70 here in the AM. Is there a way to scan and tune just for startups? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Try adding some fuel in "Startup AFR Correction". E85 likes a rich start. May need to mess with Decay but I haven't messed much with that.

What AFR are you seeing on wideband when you first start it?

I will check in the morning. I have been driving so it’s starting fine now. Thanks

Also if your MAF table is off in your idle area it will affect your startup. I'm not 100% sure on your year but on my car maf controls about everything. I don't think the VE table does diddly. Just backup for maf failure.
My startup is pretty decent, about 2 seconds to start. It used to be 5 to 10 seconds before I tune the idle area. Only thing I'm trying to figure out is how to get it to stay in open loop a little longer on startup. When it jumps to close loop too soon the computer starts pulling timing to get the idle under control. Makes it run just a little rough.

Of course it started fine today. The AFR gauge restarts while I am cranking so it’s hard to read it . When it powered on it was about an AFR of 9.0

I’m trying to get HPT to add the Base Fueling>Crank vs Coolant temp to the editor.

Well they just shot me down because they do not have the address to the parameter. Those guys are about worthless.

Yeah probably not super accurate until the sensor warms up. Takes a few seconds I imagine. But you might be super rich in those MAF cells. I knew I was because my iac would be wide open making a loud sucking noise. Do dbw cars have an iac? Try leaning it out in idle cells and below.
I wish hpt would add more tables. I check after every update. Doubt it's ever gonna happen.

Nope won’t happen unless we can request with the address. Then they will add it. I think someone with tiny tuners may be able to get it. I have tiny tuners but no way to open my HPT file there.

Yeah, and I lost my DHP tuner...think someone threw away the bag it was in Was pretty bummed to realize that. Still hurts to think about. But I still have no idea how you would find the "address". That's like coder talk.

F#*k HPTuners “support”. They never really support. Just the run around. They delete posts in the forums that call them out.

Lol. It's great software but yeah. Well, their scanner is nice. Wish I still had my DHP for tuning though. Also I love how hpt has promised to release all these new pro features since before the mpvi2 came out. Still not a word about them. Standalone tuning would be nice, and wireless flashing. And the hub with all the inputs.

Well I feel it's time to give this project up. When I give it gas on the highway 5k RPM and up it jumps and skips around dangerously. Also, some mornings it takes 5 minutes to start but then starts perfect the rest of the day. I'm going to just drive out all the e85 gas then take off the 60# injectors, 3.0 pulley, 85mm maf, belt wrap kit and sell it all.

Did you change the maf table?

Yep I changed it to the 85mm maf table that Scottydoggs sent me.

The bad part is, there were quite a few different lq4 maf's and some have different calibrations. Sadly zzp doesn't tell you which theirs is. It looks like you can email them your file and they will change it for you if you're not sure yours is correct.
But I wonder if you're not maxing it out. It really doesn't give much headroom over the stock maf. You should take a scan of a run on your car with hpt and post it.

Ill contact ZZP to see if they have the file. One thing I was looking at my LTFT from my last scan and they were positive. Most +16. Which is very lean. Can someone please link how to change that with HPT. I've had brain procedures the last 4 weeks so I have a hard time remembering anything. Any help is appreciated.

Usually if they are 16+, you have something off in the tune, or a nice vacuum leak.

I'll try a few multi by 1/2 tunes and see if they some down. if they don't then I will look for leaks. I highly doubt there are any leaks.
