04 pcm is different if were talking grand prix's.
what you want to do if its a getting the engine and tranny swapped is to find a pcm from the same year as your car but a l67. then it will work fine, but if your keeping the na tranny you need tuning for it to not eat the tranny.
I'd assume the engine and computer is from a Impala or Monte Carlo being that it's a 2004. That engine still went all the way to 2005 in those cars and the ParK Ave Ultra.
The VIN means nothing for getting the vehicle to run. As he said though, the L36 transmission can't be controlled properly if the computer has a stock L67 calibration file in it.
NA gearing is 3.05 or 3.29 where as the S/C final gearing is a 2.93.
