Because their tuners allow messing with the emission controls. I'm guessing this will set precedence for the government to fine and ban other tuner software out there.

gm has already made it so theres a permanent code put in place that cant be deleted in newer cars. i read about it on the hpt fb group. only thing that will make it go away is it passing its self test and becoming "ready".
