I'm stoked. Been too long since I owned a MIG. Ordered a flow meter, hose, and tips. Hopefully I'll be getting a bottle and wire this weekend.

My garage is so small, if I set the welder in the middle I could just about reach anything. Ha! I'll probably just grab another cheap movers dolly from Harbor Freight.

I hear ya. I thought it was funny, cuz if that was me, I'd need the creeper. And I never need a creeper. LOL

My welder is neatly tucked away in the closet.

my friends got the same welder, but a 140 hd iirc? it fits perfectly on the HF welder cart, also has a small bottle area with a chain to secure it for like 45 bucks iirc. its nice little cart.

That might be money well spent. I'm wondering if it will hold a 125CF bottle...

Big day today!! My "electrician" finished wiring up dual 220 plugs

My recon grinder and accessories were delivered

Picked up a (FULL) 125 CF tank and Taylor flow meter (previous picture) from a buddy for $200

    And the Pig is out!

Let's see how much I can get outta this mess on the Craigslist...

I'll post more pictures tomorrow. I ran out of daylight and ambition.

I had not considered that. I wanted two plugs just in case I someday had a plasma cutter and large compressor. They would have to run simultaneously.

But at home powder coat is a very real possibility. Just need more money now...

So here's some daylight pictures. Engine bay with the motor fresh out. Nothing done at this point. We'll call this "before"

Packrats. Would you like some hantavirus with that V8? No thanks.

Noticed one of the motor mount bolts was a little.... off. I'd hate to think that it left the factory like this, but knowing what GM's quality control was like in the late 90's, I believe it. I guess cross threads is better than no threads.

Engine harness and ABS harness out

Ready for some pressure washing. Probably pre-soak the really bad spots with super clean for a couple days.

    That's enough for today.

"Bottles" are for infants, "Cylinders" or "Tanks" are used by Welders.

My garage, my rules. I think from now on I'll call it "that tall brown round thing that holds the metal burning gas" Shrug. I'm not a welder. I'm sure when I go to Airgas to exchange it, if I call it a bottle, they'll still take my money.

We use Airgas too, and yes, as long as your money is green(or whatever color your checks/credit card/debit are, does anyone use checks anymore?) they'll take it. Technically stargon is a shielding gas, it brings impurities in the weld to the surface, so they can be chipped off as slag. 75/25 is what we use as well. Be careful how you transport and store those TBRTTHMBG's , much destructive pressure levels stored inside. The knob to the left of your regulator gauge sets the flow rate, when you purge or pull the trigger on your hand gun, set the flow so that the ball inside just floats to the top, that's plenty.
