just showing off the cutty we've built, paying homage to the legendary "Hairy" Hurst Olds
    enjoy the whorage

the rear LN3 3800 is getting replaced with the other L67/4t80e

vid of the new front L67

the details of the front engine:

thats a 34mm hollow FE3 swaybar (the rear's getting another one heheheh)

the new rear engine and trans:

we sold the SLP's and are getting two sets of Pacesetters since they clear the 4t80e selector shaft and the SLP's dont.

i've got tons more if ya want to see em...

the 94-96 cutty has the lowest drag coefficient of all the 1st gen W bodies
slippery and sexy at the same time...
we do have the lip spoiler and lip spoiler tailights from the 3.4 DOHC cutty's waiting to go on (i need another pint of med adriatic blue)

we orginally had the 3100 it was swapped into a 93 GP SE (3.4 DOHC was hydraulic'd) then a couple months later al's sister blew the 3100 in her 98 monte so we then swapped it into the monte...

that poor 93 GP SE seems to have had sooooo many engines in it... probably having an identity crisis!

unless we find someone that wants the shell we'll be plasmacutting most of it up and keeping the subframe/struts etc for the rear of the 442 (dual piston calipers on all 4 corners heheh) along with any other parts that can be used on the 442...

i had to do ALOT of rewiring for the 94 PCM and harness...oh well

yeah it goes to shows (won a trophy already, "most modified" )

soon it'll be back in my garage for the rear engine and trans, finish the two fuel systems and finish the dual 3" exhaust (rear engine at the LR bumper cutout and the front at the RR cutout)

the first outting this season will likely be a trip to byron

I just sold my 94 3.4 DOHC cutlass. I over reved the engine and bent a rod. Sat for a while and since I bought a GTP I sold it. Kinda sucks because I had slotted rotors, sway bars, KYB struts and a Viper alarm put on it. Because of the issue with the engine I almost gave it away. Nobody wanted to buy it. The body was in great shape, the top half of the motor was redone. I thought for sure I wouldve sold it easily. Took me a few years to sell it.
Anyway, your car is looking sweet.

i'd love a cutty vert' make it much easier to cage than the 442 was lol

we are tearing apart al's 93 GP SE (former LQ1 car) for glass, subframe, brakes etc for the 442

    not so great news...

the 89 cutlass ciera Jyard hauler has its 125c 3 spd dieing horribly...
so in order to get al's DD/Jyard whore back on the road it'll be getting the LN3 3800/4 spd 440t4 thats currently in the rear of the 442

buh bye! wimpy 2.8 helloooo LN3 TQ! not to mention the better fuel economy from the OD...

this on top of the 100$ 96 lumina APV (the new larger Jyard whore) that has a bad HG on the 3400...so at this point we're thinking 3800 SII...

though if his wife gets off her ass and works on her L67... we'll take the 3400 from her 01 GAGT and toss it in the van

    musical 3800's

    holy cow!

i certainly hope you dont keep track of how many swaps you do.

...that and i for sure hope that no one ever suspects you of chop shopping cars--- all those different engines/trans with mismatched vins etc

i quit counting a few years back after swappinga 460 into a 67 notch, and a 351W into an allis chalmers tractor...and I will probably continue long after i stuff my SI/SII hybrid onto the cressida wagon...

thats what i love about GM's the ability to swap drivetrains is pretty damn straightforward... for the most part the drivetrains just swap cars that al or his family owns...as for chopshop...i dont think modern engines/tranny's are VIN stamped... as long as we throw in a motor thats the same year or newer we're set

heh you are soo wrong on that.... most have at least one stamping, if not more... not neccessarily a full vin, but a derivative on some. partial vin on others. -- even other major components may be marked also (think truck rear axle housings, --thats how they identified/tracked the vehicle that blew up the federal builing in OKC way back when)

in the 90's GM (and other manufacturers) went with stick on barcodes for parts tracking etc...easier to scan a barcode than read stamped in digits

they also come right off the block easily...

especially when removing casting flash thats just dead weight...

each engine family could be slightly different, but there also are hidden numbers all over the car

there's numbers there somewhere. could be just pin stamped numbers. --- they're not meant to be easy to find, lol --- hence why if i told you, i'd have to kill you, and would likely be killed myself

    heh

i have to agree on not seeing a stamped number outside of the casting code
im looking at 3-3800s right now and 1 is a 97, 1 is a 99 and the other is an 03

    nothing on any of them

i just want to say, that is nice!! and also they made the that body cutlass till 97, we use to have one, but in 97 it was only available with the 3100 and had the spoiler, 5 spoke rims standard... engine overheated at 197k miles, thats when we got the GP, i wanted to take and swap a s/c 3800 in it soo bad, but when we moved to SD we had to leave it behind, along with my 95 SL1...
