Just was thinking, do you think Pontiac can make a comeback ?

It won't happen.
They are too focused on buick and caddilac to care about pontiac ever again.
And with chevy updating 5 cars in the 2015-2016 model year, they have too much going on.
Pontiac in the end years was directly targeted at BMW and might have been a RWD-only division by now if it had not been ended. The name was always about value-priced performance IMO. But... like it's namesake, it fought hard then died a warrior. The arrowhead had a good run but its history now.
After finally seeing a Chevy SS, I wouldnt mind owning one. Always wanted a G8, but at least now theres an updated version.
We have a few Chevy Caprice PPVs here.
There may have been more RWD Buick 231CID / 3800ccV6s than FWD. The engine (motors are like what runs the wipers) family began in the 60s. Lots of RWD 3800 Pontiacs still out there (4th gen Firebird), some with a clutch. Pontiac's V8 had a good run, 1955-79 but I find that now, people generally aren't aware that GM's divisions all had their own unique engine designs until the smog era when things blurred and the term "corporate engine" came into play. Lots of people are suprised to find out that all 350s aren't chevys. Sigh. I used up a couple Pontiac V8s in my time and still run one. Now that we're talking about it I want to go for a cruise with it. Believe I will.
BTW make my Holden a stock LS powered Ute please.
A customer at my shop ships over Holden Utes and converts them to left hand drive with g8 parts. he does them two at a time and is getting big bucks for them. He said he has done about 6 of them and from the photos he showed me they are pretty sweet.
Holden will not come here..
GM has decided to cease Holden operations in Australia starting in 2017

Er, left hand drive, right? lol I know what you mean and it sounds like a worthy conversion... to dream of having. I bet your guy gets plenty of bites for those. Putting Pontiac front ends on el Caminos ain't a new idea but I usually like the result judging by pics I've seen. Pontiac actually built one in late the 50s, a concept car.
So do y'all think Caddy is the luxury and performance brand of Pontiac ? Pontiac was in competition with BMW, Audi, and Mercedes just like how Caddy is now.
