I couldn't do that to him. HOWEVER... He does still owe me $400 from a deal we went half in on. I could potentially walk away with it for only $600 out of pocket.
So here's a good reason NOT to run straight water in your cooling system.
2006 Silverado 2500HD. LQ4 with just under 300k on the odo. 3 out of 4 expansion plugs in the heads were rotted through. I'm sure number 4 was only days away from blowing out. Anyhow, don't cheap out on coolant. You'll either; be paying to have both heads pulled, be pulling both heads yourself, or be selling a valuable truck for dirt cheap to a guy willing to do this kind of work.
i didnt say to use them, just way easier to install. you dont need a clear shot with the tool for them, you just tighten a nut on it and its done. its kinda like a molly fastener.

So. The forum said I needed to post something... Apparently coming on daily and making sure this place is still running isnt enough for it. Pushy ass forum software.

Re: Post Whoring - 5.5.1 - We have a turd in the punch bowl
Well, I did it. I finally bought an oven for the garage. This little gem popped up on Nextdoor for a fair price. It was just up the road so I snagged it. I pulled off some of the decorative bits to save space up top and add storage on bottom. I should have taken a before picture. It looked more like a normal oven. Need to wait for the brother in law to swap out one of the 220v plugs (I don't play with the pixies in the wall), but I could/should be powder coating soon!
It would also be good for preheating welded parts. If I ever get good enough at welding to know when I need to preheat parts. LOL
My bride makes the BEST banana bread muffins. (I challenge any takers). I ask her to try not to use the oven in the summer (wreaks havoc on the electric bill) but having an oven in the garage opens up new possibilities! Year round muffins! Or... Lasagna in August! Oh the glory!
