Before I even watched the video I could have punched him in the face. Just the way he looks pisses me off. Lol
On the flip side of the coin is if we get the Self driving car for commuting to work and save the gas powered fun driving vehicles for the weekend back roads, I could see that as a bonus.
Exact opposite of what Detroit should be doing, give me a 700hp $20,000 car that handles like it's on rails. If he wants something self driving and electric where he can text all his gay friends he can hop on a train.
Never thought I'd wish for another world war, but after seeing this I'm really thinking that's about the only thing that could fix that mentality or generation.
I agree with some of what he's said. Screw the autonomous vehicle crap, I enjoy driving and hate DBW, I can't imagine driving a car with even more electronic controls. As for the electric (or renewable fuel source) cars, infrastructure, and cleaner cars, we do need to head in that direction IMO.
i agree with renewable energy and other things but we need to have a great economy first to support it. if we try to make everything all green we end up falling flat on our butts and in a bigger hole then we are in now. lets worry about job first then going green.
Economy is a cycle. It will go up and it will go down. Going green lasts a lifetime! Or something inspirational like that. US technically still has the draft. It can be put into place at any moment if alarge scale war broke out or we were invaded.
there's a couple of you that posted about green energy and the like above. my response to that:
electric power (the power charging your car) is more expensive then just running everything on a fossil fuel. fact.
however, a car that'll be battery powered, recharge itself, etc. etc. would be a turn of the century type of thing. however, for how we travel as a country it cannot happen.
the infrastructure of this country as a whole is awful. given that we had more mid range travel options available (more buses and trains), we'd have a chance at doing something worthwhile. however, our road system is destroyed beyond all kinds of belief and if we cant fix it faster then we can drive over it we're going to be done. more mass transit, less the fun stuff and we'll all have more "fun stuff" overall.
just an engineer with his thoughts.
Exactly! With that said, don't you think were due for one?
lol
