Some more guys playing with the 3.7 N/A V6 in the Mustangs and taking their numbers even further into the 12s. Keep an eye on the red one. Oh, and there are a couple Grand Prixs in the video too! So it's enjoyable for everyone.

Oh, it's a 3.7 and it's got a decent list of mods, but still N/A. The black one is his son's 3.7 that isn't modded near as close. Here's the red one's mod list, still not as extensive as you would think. No head or block work, still running a canned tune.
Lund Racing 93 octane tune
JLT CAI
BBK TB
Ported upper and lower intake manifolds
BBK long tubes and matching O/R X-pipe
'11+ GT stock resonators
Flowmaster 'Force II' axleback
Steeda shifter with Barton bracket
Spec Stage 1 clutch with aluminum flywheel
Shaftmasters aluminum driveshaft
3.73 gears
J&M LCA's and adjustable panhard bar
UPR double adjustable UCA &mount with pinion angle set at negative 2 3/4 degrees
Race Star wheels 17x4.5 and 17x9.5
M&H bias ply 26x17 front tires and M/T bias ply 26x11.5x17 ET Street rear tires
I'm surprised Ford hasn't made a turbo variant or a supercharged one. Would make for an interesting mid range engine in the stang. But I love there new 3.7. Sounds good for a V6 and hauls.
Shelby already offers a supercharged one.
I'm not. They have a history of not wanting anything to compete w/ the V8 Mustang, which I would think a T/C or S/C version of the V6 would outdo the new 5.0 stock for stock. They have had other cars in the past that they limited due to this. Mark VIII, Marauder, Thunderbird and Cougar come to mind. I like some Mustangs and all but I hate the fact that they refuse to let anything else in the lineup compare power or performance-wise to it. Pisses me off.
At least GM isn't afraid to make the CTS-V, which is the "family version" of the Corvette. I doubt any Corvette sales were hurt when the Caddy came out. In fact, it may have helped it.
cheaper to buy cheaper insurance and still rip off 12s whats not to like?
BTW iirc there IS an ecoboost mustang in the works I just hope they badge it as an SVO.............
Yup.
Told you people.
These things run their junk off.
He meant the Mustang lol. There are going to be 4 Mustang tiers in '15: V6, Ecoboost I4 (300hp+ estimated), 5.0 GT, GT500 (possibly 5.0TT).
FWIW, GM is scared of things getting near the Vette in performance too. There is a reason the '04 GTO had an LS1, and only because of its weight did it get the LS2 down the line. Camaro has always been kept under the Vette, and the Fiero was never given decent power for the same reason.
Stock block. Only thing besides the turbo kit to the engine is injectors I believe. Of course it has other mods in the drivetrain similar to the N/A one above, this car runs 10s in the 1/4 and fully streetable.
Makes me wonder, if anybody even tried to get the max HP out of our 3.8s
LOL ya missed that on my comment.
And I do agree with this, the Vette has always been the epitome of performance in GMs eyes, everything else is sub-par and should be kept that way. This is why the ZL1 got a different motor from the ZR1, couldn't have the Camaro keeping up with the flagship.
I saw a video with Carroll Shelby before he passed and it was funny because he said the team was done with chasing the Camaro, his eyes were on the Vette. Guess what happened next?
