You sure do tend to over think alot of this stuff.

Oil is oil. You're just paying for the name on the bottle. Run mobil 1 or castrol, it truely doesnt matter which one you pick. Mobil 1 just say that the extended life oil COULD run up to 15,000 miles WITH atleast a filter change somewhere in there. I wouldnt ever trust it that long.

Just buy one of those full syn oils and a filter and run it 5,000 miles and change it, simple as that.

Or just buy regular oil because its cheaper and does the same exact thing as a synthetic oil.

Gotcha, ya i do tend too but ya i think ill just buy this mobil 1 extended performance oil and give it a try. Wal Mart says they got the 5Qt jug for 27$ + tax. Seems pretty cheap and we only need 6 Qts so ill but one extra QT for like 8$ and use the K&N performance Oil filter i got with it.

I agree with fivefingerdeathpunch oil is oil, and there all pretty much the same. Just buy what is on sale and change it regularly.

I tend to use whatever is on sale. I have stuck with Mobil 1 for the longest time. I just recently switched to peak synthetic as it was on sale at pep boys with a purolator filter for $20.

The Peak oil kinda looks like crap and i know a friend of mine used the 5w-30 on his ford taurus and just 2k miles later that engine got F*****. the ford guys said that the oil must have clogged something in his crankshaft i think it was or something he told me. Im just thinking he had a gay Ford, i mean the problem for his cars is circled right in the back. LOL thats why im not buying it but then again i dont know and ive never heard of that brand so im steering clear of that. Either way ill give Mobil 1 Extended Performance shot and see.

Thanks again for all your guys help

I did my research prior to using it. It's just as good as nything else on the market. I tried mobil 1 extended performance and it was the same as regular mobil 1. I ended up getting the same life out of it compared to the regular stuff.

I know you guys said oil is oil, but i just wanted to know is Quaker State Ultimate Durability good? Is it as good or better than Mobil one Extended performance? Just wanted to know so i choose between these two oils and get which ever one is cheaper or on sale. Also its safe to use different brand oil when we change the oil right?

QS is considered a standard level synthetic.

M1EP is considered a premium synthetic.

If you're going to lengths, find an amsoil dealer and get preferred customer price or better. Buy signature series.

I have run AMSOIL in my race engines and my engine builder says it makes a huge difference. 8 quarts of 20W50 Synthetic Race Oil that we change out after 2 nights can get expensive but when the internals are able to be reused when the engine goes to the builder for a refresh makes the expense of a quality oil very acceptable.

Ya i guess ill stick with M1.

Ive checked my local wal mart, autozone, pepboys, ETC cant find Amsoil. I see theres a dealer i think like 20-30 miles away but i think ill just stick withe the M1 Extended Performance. Also is that Amsoil race oil pretty good if say i were to use it like on our GTPs? Or just stick with full synthetic?

I wouldnt recommend running the 20W50 Synthetic Race Oil in your daily driver. Its a little overkill running that weight oil in a street car.

For a street car I'd suggest Signature series in the appropriate weight for your engine, weather and driving habits.

Ya, i was reading that on their sight i think the Signature 100% Synthetic would be fine. Ill look on amazon and see the prices, i possibly will not use it on our SUV instead we will us ethe Mobil 1 extended performance. Should be good for our 4.7L Gasoline engine. As for a GTP or something similar i get as a DD ill use the Amsoil, if the price is right. If its expensive then M1 it is.

    Thanks again guys
