Hello my mind is blank I cant remember what they are called but can someone Photoshop the door contact bars out. I am thinking about getting those removed and filled in but I am not sure about liking them if or not. So can someone Photoshop them out and show me.

Why does removing the door bump guard make it look like a bonne? I like it though.

That looks sweet. I am trying to find a body shop around me that will shave the handles and remove the door contact bars. But the all want to use bondo which I refuse to use.

Bondo, when used correctly, is a great tool. Problem is most places just slag it on as a cheap and fast 'fix'

When you ask around, ask to see their work in person, any reputable place will be glad to show you their craftsmanship.

Bondo, when used correctly, is not referred to as Bondo. The proper term, and how you can tell the difference between a pro and an idiot with a spray gun, is body filler or plastic filler. If you see somebody talking about Bondo, they don't know what they are talking about.

They way we are shaving the door moulding at school are welding the clip holes shut, then grindind the surface, then using longstrand fiberglass resin, then shortstrand if needed, body filler if needed, then glaze. Welding would take to long and it would cause ALOT of warp on the THIN door skin. Ill post pictures when im done.

That is the absolute worst way to shave anything. When using proper welding techniques you will see almost no warping on the panel.

I'm pretty sure when I shaved the fenders on my wagon using a sledge hammer and an oxy acetylene torch, that was the worst way.

Tho, I'm sure spending tons of hours meticulously welding is a few and far between approach. On a nice heavy Chevy, or something of show quality, absolutely. On a ****ing GP though?

When you have ten pounds of fiberglass sitting on the freeway after hitting a pothole, I think I could tell fairly easily.
