I am getting married in October and registered on sears for some gifts. Sears and our government will not let me know who bought items off of the website. I got an email saying that I was getting two gifts from them and they came. My problem is I had some random dude txt me (I have no idea how he got my cell phone number) saying that he sent them to me by accident instead of sending a gift to another Nathan in a different state who's wedding happened nearly a month ago. I checked sears and this other "Nathan" does show up there. So my question is is this a scam, is it real, should I send the items to sears? I have no way of verifying that this guy even sent me these items because sears will not tell me. What should I do guys? The two items combined were 70$

If he somehow got your number then I would say just keep them, it seems a little sketchy.

Maybe contact Sears and find out what to do about this situation? I'd hate to see the guy screwed out of a wedding gift for his friend/family over a dumb misclick or something... not saying send the stuff to him but Im sure this has happened before and Sears might have a way to handle it since they probably can see themselves who sent it and to where?

I read the title, then I read "I'm getting married" and I thought that was it. Turns out it involves Sears.

What..Sears got married by mistake? LOL

If he did this.. then let him know to follow up with Sears as they won't give you any information. He has his payment records etc and ... how the hell did he get your contact info? That's sketchy.

That is the part that weirds me out the most! I was working with them earlier this week with a gift package and they wouldn't tell me **** about the thing. So I have no idea how he would have gotten my number from them. Idk what I am going to do. It's just really weird that he found my cell number somehow. Its not like I plaster that all over the web I try and keep that number pretty quite.

Someone trying hard enough could probably find the number. Ask him for a copy of his sales receipt and some more info etc. Then check that other Nathan's FB page. If he's getting a gift..likely the guy is a friend. See where I'm going. Do a bit more research if you can. Ultimately it's not your responsibility to make things right. It's the just and moral thing if he can help prove it out. Otherwise, these could be from your friends.

Odd that sears doesn't let you know who it's from. How can you send a thank you?

Doesn't seem sketchy at all...he's just an idiot.
It's easy to find out if someone you know paid for it.
    Just ask.
