i went to the junkyard today to price out a 350 and tranny for the camaro. they wanted $500 for a high milage 350. they also had a couple low milage 5.3L for $500 as well. my buddie has a pcm for one and i found a borg warner 4 speed for $300. Good set-up or no? i was also thinking putting a 6.0L from the 3/4 ton in it as another option. but the one i wanted wont fit under the hood. its to tall. i wanted a 8.1L in it. what do yall think?

UPDATE: Guy finally dropped off the camaro and tires and picked up the suburban today. Good thing he traded cause as he was hot rodding it as soon as we pulled into my driveway it started throwing out all kinds of white smoke and oil was leaking out of the exhaust.
anyways here are some pictures for btter judgment of the engine bay. And can anbody tell me how good these tires are?

Here is the engine bay picture:

And here are the tires: kumho soloas'. never herd of them before.

5.3 with HCI can work for cheaps.

But an LQ4/9 a la 6 litre with LS3 heads and a cam would be quite fun as well.

those 6.0 come with 280 to 310 hp, and have some good balls stock, a few mods will make it really wake up. im sure you'll need to get a different oil pan and motors mounts, or custom mounts of some sort to get it low enough. may even be a kit out for all that.

That would be hell for a mild street car.

And a bunch more powers with some cheapo L92/LS3 heads and a mild cam.

That and headers. Unless you can fab exhaust.

cant get into the trunk yet, no key. suspension mounts look good. main rust is firewall and the passenger floor pan.
