You guys thought there'd be some crazy link huh?

Dave.. I pulled the tip out of my soldering gun and cleaned it. It's like cooking with torches now.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

With the multitude of things that I work on, I have smaller 15-35W irons, a desoldering iron and also the gun 140/100W. For most stuff i prefer the gun and have become good at using it on even 20 gauge or less wiring when needed.

Most auto stuff...I want the power of the gun to ensure the solder is heated through.

i honestly only have one crappy one and i hate soldering. i never have anything big enough to actually get the solder hot through the wire, which is how you're supposed to do it so that it sucks the solder into the wires. so i have to go old school and hack it together anyway. yay electrical engineers.

Funny thing is Dave said.. "I didn't do that hole, where could that come from...which rocker did that". Oddly it lined up with the alternator bracket hole..
