They all screw you over at some point. If you're going with cable, ask around before you pull the trigger, great internet, but our local cable seems to go down once a week at the worst times and you pay a buttload for it after the first 6months or year comes, where as centurylink seems to always be up.

My friend says he calls directv every 6 months or so, threatens to cancel and they drop his rate. They all are going to be $130 (depending on the area) a month after the incentives wear off.

Our family is 43yo me 37yo wife 8yo and 3yo girls and we have no Live feed except over air but we have Roku, NetFlix, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus streaming services and we are never at a loss to have something to watch. Got rid of home phone and just use magicjack through our internet which granted is high speed but usually don't have any major problems to speak of. Used to have major 3 way bundle through Fios and doing what we have now we save well over $130 a month.

The initial cost of buying a streaming device can be a factor but we had PS3, Wii and a streaming 3d Bluray already so I just grabbed roku boxes for the girls bedrooms and we were set I think the Roku boxes were about $60-70 a piece shipped from Amazon which at the time was better than direct from Roku.

3D over comcast and Fios sucked at least here in my area. There are a bunch of nerds like me who are into home theater that I know so between us we pretty much have all the 3D blurays that come out and just trade amongst ourselves but other than 3D, streaming is the way to go unless you are a super sports junkie but even then, there are ways around things

My 3D setup is only our large viewing screen and I have the Roku boxes in my daughters rooms on little 32" wall mounted tv's that are not 3D so I honestly don't know what Roku offers in the way of 3D. Once you have seen true 3D with up to 9.2 audio then over the air/cable/satellite 3D leaves you wanting and 3D streaming is even lacking more so, especially on a large viewing screen, where you can get away with it to a point on smaller screens. I am a huge fan of 3D and am in my 3rd gen 3D setup because I am a very early adopter of home theater tech usually and my whole family loved the 3D movies in the movie theaters so we took the plunge back when 3D first was released for home use. I would reccomend save $ with Roku or similar streaming devices for overall TV viewing and buy 3D blurays for a better 3D viewing experience if you really like the 3D stuff.

Check your 3D Bluray player because if it a newer model it may have streaming capabilities already even if it not wireless. I actually suggest for A/V stuff that people use an ethernet connection anyway since it is so much more stable than wireless so if you need to buy some cable it is still a small $ at first to save in the long run. monoprice.com is where I get 99.9% of my stuff if they have it available. I am a tech nerd but not a snob so the products are just fine with me even though they don't go ROAR and have a M on them M cables are highly over rated anyway and over priced even worse. JMHO

For that kind of bandwidth, I wouldn't go less than fios. But comcast, among other cable providers, provide some decent deals.
